Rabbitohs Announce Teams to Play Tigers this Sunday

The Allight Rabbitohs is pleased to announce its teams for Round 22 to take on the Wests Tigers this Sunday, August 8 at 2:30pm at Leichhardt Oval.

Mark Christensen has been brought up into First Grade on the wing and Shane Rigon has moved into the centres from the second row. Mark Minichiello has moved into the starting line up and Justin Smith and Willie Manu will return from injury onto the interchange bench.

The Allight Rabbitohs’ Premier League and Jersey Flegg sides will also play at Leichhardt Oval against the Balmain Tigers this Sunday. Premier League will play 12:30pm and Jersey Flegg will play at 10:50am. Gates will open at 10:30am.

The First Grade referee is Steve Clark.

Mark is originally from Mackay Qld. He is 22yo 180cm and 86kg. This is his first year with Souths.

Hybrid - dont say things like that!

When people say stuff like that, we always lose.

We must remember the golden rule of this football club - The tigers always play to the level of their opposition.

Souths have a very good chance of winning this - Craigie and Williams are the real danger men and the Tigers dont handle creativity too well. Fletcher's offloads are also going to cause us headaches.

For mine, this is a real test - we were abysmal against the Eeels - can we hammer souths? If so, then we deserve a shot at a finals place..

We do have the better backs however so I just hope we get the chance to send the ball out wide!

Im very suprised Clark has been given this game.I would have thought a top notch ref would have been in order considering the appauling refereeing performances dished out to the Tigers this season.Let alone the fact that the game is a traditional game with alot of passion and tension and our top 8 hopes hinge on the result.

After Clarks bungle last week im less than impressed with the appointment.

on paper the tigers should get up.. but out on the field it depends what side turns up.. the one that played so well against the bulldogs and in all our other wins this year, or the team that plays against souths every other year..
they're backline doesn't really worry me, their halves have a bit of talent so the boys just have to pressure them up and get them off their game, they're pack is the only thing that can get them over the line in this game i think, they have manu coming off the bench as well who will be a hand full.. tigers struggle to defend when the other team gets an offload away, and manu will no doubt get 1 or 2 away.

A few of my mates who go for Rabbitohs say Christensen is a fairly good player in Premier League but they have their doubts at the moment about him playing First Grade.

Have to watch Fletcher that bastard. I have a feeling Manu will have a good game too.

Their backline is pretty flat, we should make the most of that.
