Nathan Hindmarsh. Does the work of 2 men. Absolutely outstanding, and the greatest second rower of all time.

Another attention seeking thread by Loudstrat.... Hindy was great, best second rower of this decade would be agreed upon by most. But can this thread be moved to the Parra forum before skeepe sees it?

I wouldnt go so far as useless, but seeing footage of his play from aroun 2000-03 or so before his 266th game, had forgotten how damaging he used to be in attack. Really has let his defensive game take over.

Even though i support the Knights, I would have to agree. He is the best second row player I've ever seen play. Not so sure about the best ever though (only cos i haven't seen every second row in the history of NRL/NSWRL play lol)

Dally M second rower of the year 4 times, RLW's team of the year on 7 occasions, 23 tests and 16 origin matches for NSW. Hindmarsh, along with Tallis and Menzies will be remembered as the greatest backrowers of the past decade. Like it or not, it stands.

There's been so many good backrowers in the last decade or so. Fitzgibbon, Crocker etc along with those youve mentioned

That's all I'll pay. Look he definitely can be considered as one of the best second-rowers of the decade. But I'd still have a few ahead of Hindmarsh.

No one is ever going to agree on the best. But if a vote was to be done he'd be up there no doubt within the top 3. As far as consistency goes I can't rate anyone higher. Out of interest Jono, who would you rate as your top 5 backrowers of this decade?

People forget his injuries when talking about his attack. It'd be amazing if he was still the deceptively fast, strong wide running back rower of the early 2000's....but knee and foot injuries put paid to that years ago. What he has done is develop and evolve. He's become one of our better defenders out of necessity, but he's also one of our better offloaders and a good passer of the ball. And while he might not be the hard runner he used to be, his drive at the line is still probably the best going around. He's very deceptive in attack, easily the best backrower of the decade and up there with the greats at Parramatta at least.
