Dude it should have won by a furlong. It ended up covering 2 miles in the run.

Lane have Humidor got a peach

was a crap one by Willow for sure, but a first up romp was never on the cards.
Humi winning that like it was 2017 says more about our dud WFA races now than anything else..

Pretty much if that was that the apparent MC fav coming behind...

Well let’s just say will be looking to overseas horses.

Was always a huge risk at 1600m anyway

Surprise baby is one of our best stayers. Proved it in last years cup. If they can dish up a fair Flemington (something they haven’t done for decades) it will be very hard to beat regardless of who comes over.

it will only have 1 more run before the cup if last year is anything to go by.

FTR I didn’t back Surprise Baby, I too thought 1600 was short of its best and considering it hadn’t run in close to 12 months it was a watch race for me. I wasn’t prepared to back anything to beat it either because I think it’s a special horse and I can appreciate it put in a huge run and should have clearly won.

Humidor was great and he’s an old fave so glad to see him show some form, but you swap the rides and Baby wins by 3. Humidor probably runs midfield.
