Spurs Through to NBA Finals

The San Antonio Spurs are the first team into the NBA finals today defeating the Phoenix Suns. But as a Suns fan well done lads a great season and you were a joy to watch play. Unfortunately for Phoenix Shawn Marion went cold during the Spurs series but to get to where they got from where they were was great. Amare and Nashy could still get this group to the finals next season. A genuine centre is all that's needed.

I am shattered about this. As a long time Suns fan, I thought this was our year. The thing out of this series was that San Antonio controlled the tempo of the games beautifully. They are the best team in the game when it comes down to a half court game of basketball. And with Duncan in the middle, a slowed down game is their forte. The only game they lost was when Phoenix upped the tempo in game 4, and pulled out a win.

I hope Miami do... and wouldn't that be a kick to the Lakers arse (and Kobe's) Who was more important to the Lakers again????

soniceagle...

the series with the suns proved the spurs are not a boring team.
If the pistons make the finals then expect 76-70 scorelines ( i am a pistons fan so i dont care)
If the Heat make the finals then there will be 106-100 scores.
Spurs/Pistons...what a series that would be (praying for it)

I wonder if they really would be better with a traditional center. That would move Amare to 4, Marion to 3, and either Q or Joe Johnson to 6th man. (Assuming they didn't give up anyone to get a center.) It would seem to be a deeper, more traditional lineup. But a big part of their successful running game this year was having Amare, Marion etc play out of position so they would have more speed.

As for the Finals, game 1 didn't look too promising for the Pistons Charlie.

Unlucky Saab. San Antonio are all over the Pistons. I can't see the Pistons winning four out of the next five!!!!

We may find out next year as the Suns are set to trade Q to the Knicks for Kurt Thomas.
