St Helens 52 Castleford 8

Attendance: I can't find this anywhere. Why is it so hard to find, it was on Ceefax last night but it's been removed this morning.
I think it was somewhere around the 7500 mark.

Highlights
-See How were the Cas Fans
-Leading at St Helens. Unfortunately it went downhill from there.
-The 'StevieB Golfbus TM
-Putting faces to names-e.g. Sadfish, BigJeff etc

Lowlights
-The 2nd half 'effort' from the players
-Certain players who have played well in the past, not performing.

Estimated Cas Fans 200

How were the Cas Fans This is one of the few bright spots for me. I could have gone to Le Mans for the weekend, but instead I stayed to watch Cas get hammered by Saints. However, the Cas fans cheered me up.
The conga was funny, for around 20mins in the 2nd half we sang 'the great escape theme,' and perhaps most importantly we stayed together and didn't leave before the final whistle (or should that be siren).

Comedy Moment The FunGolf TM playing 'white socks' as we left St Helens? No, this weeks 'comedy moment' again goes to the conga. It went all round the ground, although at the scoreboard end I thought it was going to stop. Top effort, well done

In a nutshell:The 1st half was much better than last weeks 'effort' against Hull. The fans really got behind the team, think about what noise 15 times that number could make in the Princess Street stand against Warrington.
However, fans don't win you matches and things are looking a bit more desperate now.

Finally, my thanks to Alex Turner of saints superstore for helping me sort out a ticket. It was very helpful, and it stopped me moaning as well!

Please note these are my views and not those of the supporters club

Heard that Mike Smith may be on the outer, any news on that mate ?

Also well done to Andy Kain and Craig Huby on being selected in the England Academy squad to tour Australia i'll be going to watch their games for sure

Well Michael Smith has supposedly had flu the last few weeks, hence why he hasn't played. I too wonder if there is something else in this, as you would have thought he'd be used to the climate by now. However, when he does play he gives his all, so I hope the rumour is false.

Andy Kain really needs a more experienced player alongside him, to bring the best out of him. Someone like Brad Davis. Craig Huby is also a very good player, and showed a lot of courage to kick a few penalty goals against Huddersfield to win us the match last season. He hasn't played much this season though, I think he deserves a chance.
Both Kain and Huby will do themselves proud on the tour.

Crowd was somewhere in the 8,000's. Cas fans were fantastic and a great laugh. Hope you stay up. Super League would be a lesser place without Cas and their fans!
