If they would have come down earlier in the year they may have snagged Mitchell Sargent form Melbourne who is now a Cowboy.
I didn't rate him at all last season but gee he came on in leaps and bounds this season.

Remeber Mitchell Sargent.
Big Tall blond headed fella.

I agree, last year I thought he was ordinary. He has really come on this year, and I for one was dissapointed to see him let go by the Storm.

Webcke recently re-signed with the Broncos.

He stated when he signed that this would probably be his last contract.

Mr George obviously watches a lot of English league. Big name flops like Carroll and Gee went back to Australia and got straight back into State of Origin.

Funniest though was Phil Adamson, who once asked Ellery Hanley during a St Helens training session, "Where do you want me?" "On a f**king aeroplane!" was the reply. He went back to the NRL and got straight into the Manly 17.

any prop here would go well there.

Mark Carroll thought the same. I lost count of the times he was carried unconcious from the pitch.

if he was carried off unconscious, that would suggest some dirty play, no?

Webcke wouldn't go, in a million years, he seems to crave the country life too much - I'd bet he plays out his time at Brisbane and then disappears beack to the country.

Some of the Warriors big boys would go well - Seuseu, Villa etc.. Maybe Mark Tookey

Not always, though I grant you there was plenty of that. Part of his problem was he got off the plane and announced to his signing press conference at London what he was going to do to all these soft northerners. Bit of a mistake that. The one I remember the most was his game at Wigan that year, '97 I think, when O'Connor basically knocked seven shades of shit out of him. Highly amusing. I think by the end his own team mates were tackling him as well.

I don't know whether it was his attitude or a style that just didn't work or what. Either way he had no impact over here at all, and he's not the only Aussie prop. It's simply not true to say that any Aussie prop can walk into any British team.

I remember Betts smashing him in that game but my favourite memory was at the Stoop in 98 when he met Adrian Morley. I thought Mozza had killed him at first.

   well Betts never smashed anyone when he played with the Warriors down here!!!

Usually the top line players transfer well, but there are exceptions - Carroll, Betts, Platt.

I suspect Platt and Carroll were past it, and Betts was just a money hungry prick!
