So am I the only one who heard this on MMM yesterday? Is it not circling the papers? The channel 7 reporter, I think it's Massoud, said Griffin was cleaning out almost every one at the end of the season. According to him, Ciraldo stays, near everyone else gone, including Palmer AND Brennan.

GRIFFIN SWINGS AXE

Channel Seven is reporting Penrith coach Anthony Griffin is set to put the broom through his football department.

Griffin is reportedly frustrated with his side’s inconsistency this season and is set to make wholesale changes to his coaching ranks.

Both assistant coaches Alex Melville and Garth Brennan are reportedly on the way out, as well as experienced conditioners Ronnie Palmer and David Boyle.

The club’s under 20s coach Cameron Ciraldo is expected to be the only survivor.

As I said last week. When Griffin took over he had keep the majority of Cleary's assistants in place for at least one year. After that he could do what ever he wanted with the coaching structure. Keep them on or bring in his own guys.
It will a shame to lose Alex Melville and Gareth Brennan. Both good guys and talented up coming coaches. Brennan in particular has a good rapport with the young guys and deserves more credit for enhancing their development. I am sure I heard on more than one occasion both of these guys were being groomed for future head coaches here. Gould was always on about growing our next coach after Cleary. It appears things have changed.

Brennan would be a loss. But i doubt he is being cleaned out... and has instead been offered a better job.

Our training and conditioning staff moving on couldnt possibly be a bad thing. We might not get better results.. but I doubt we get worse results either.

I want the Cowboys staff. Those guys have been doing great on the injury front the past 2 years. Even Coote who was injured close to half the time with us has had a nice run of games without injury.
