Stage II Development for Wests Ashfield
Members information meeting will be held at the Club
at 10am, Saturday 25 October.
Exciting times are ahead for the Club with plans in place for fantastic new facilities to be developed for our members and the community to enjoy.
Following the opening of our new club facilities last year, details are now being finalised for the planned stage II development. This will significantly increase the size of our premises and will offer stylish new entertainment facilities including a larger auditorium, a much needed local conference venue, a new dining facility and extended leisure facilities for members, their families and guests.
The plans also incorporate a serviced apartment and residential complex that will fund the enhancements to the Club and ensure that Wests Ashfield truly becomes a landmark in the inner west.
The Board of Wests Ashfield is always looking to provide improved services and facilities for both existing and potential new members. The Board believes that these plans not only present important additional benefits and value for money to our members but will also enable us to attract new members by appealing to a much broader cross section of the community. Significantly, the development enhances our ability to generate revenue from a greater mix of services at a time when gaming revenue is under threat from increased State taxes and regulation.
A new and larger auditorium means that we will be able to attract and accommodate the very best performers and shows that at the moment we may miss out on due to the size of our current venue. This, coupled with the additional facilities, means that the stage II development is fantastic news for everyone involved with Wests Ashfield.
The Club expects the development to not only provide better facilities for members, but also additional employment, providing a further boost to the local economy.
The project will be developed and funded through a partnership with Multiplex one of Australia's largest and most respected construction companies.
For further information, all members are encouraged to attend our members information meeting, which will be held at the Club at 10am, Saturday 25 October. The Club's General Manager, John Edwards, along with members of the Board and representatives of the developer Multiplex, will provide full details of the stage II development and to answer any questions that members may have.
Those members who are eligible will also be asked to vote on resolutions necessary to proceed with the development at a General Meeting, which is expected to be convened in late November.
