Came across this little gem this afternoon, thought it deserved it's own thread.


If this is the quality of stuff being churned out by fans, who needs Disney?

As awesome as that is, it feels like it doesn’t really mesh with the original footage (the way it’s cut and the music anyway).
This is what I was expecting from Disney. Maybe it seems better because it is an iconic scene with iconic characters.

An out and out lightsaber battle between obi wan and Vader does not fit with the story. Obi wan was always planning on confronting and being killed by Vader.

Shoehorning in prequel-style fluid lightsaber fighting into the original trilogy is out of place.all that fancy choreographed bullshit was never a thing till phantom menace.

Also, having Vader force throwing objects at obi wan would completely overshadow the surprise awesomeness that him revealing that power when fighting Luke in empire would be lost.

Looks like a scene from the old Dark Forces video games.

The fight between Vader and Obi-Wan was slight redone (and well) in the Adywan edit of a New Hope.
