Statistically we are bad

We may have beaten the Rabbits by a fair margin in the end but we need to improve our handling big time to match the broncs this week. According to Sydney Morning Herald 30/5:
Possession 52%, Rabbits 48%. We should have got more for scoreline.
Completions 29/42 69%. Rabbits 26/39 66.7%. Not good enough.
Missed tackles 18 each. OK but we should have forced more by Rabbits.
Line breaks 5 to 3. OK
Offloads 19 to 10. We are improving but we need to be more selective.
Errors 18 to Rabbits 15. Far to many - very frustrating.
These numbers are keeping other teams in the game. We have to improve our error rate immensely to challenge the big teams. I reckon we lost to the Roosters a few weeks back because we kept giving it back to them & they took advantage. Broncs will be the same.
Please hold the ball guys, so i dont get in trouble for swearing at the TV.

We had an ordinary first twenty minutes, it seemed to take a while for the lads to warm up. If we start like that next week the game will be gone by halftime

I was looking at the for / against in the rag this morn and we have now climbed off the worst defensive effort in the comp. It also showed me another coupla things.

A). The media have forgotten all about us supposedly being the 'new bunnies and the weakest in the land' which proves my theory right that our season is based on just that.. season on week.

B). We aren't travelling too bad considering we have not had a bye and are only out of the 8 on percentage. The only other team sitting the same as us is the Gooners. Given we have the ability to add a further 2 points for a bye to even things out, it means bye bye Tigers, Raiders and Storm to our elevation!!!!

Ye Har bring on the ponies!!!

Unfortunately we gave them a 60 point F/A headstart in round 8. Hopefully we'll trim that down a bit at Oki Doki Tip

Yes. 'Gooners' is one of the many euphemisms we have for St George Illawarra Limited.

Others you may or may not be familiar with include:

Illawarra St George Steelers
Stain George Illawarra
Merged Scum
That mob from the wrong side of Tom Ugly's
Fagons
JOKE OF THE LEAGUE

And so on, and so forth...

St Gill is another good one. As is Rabs' favourite - "Merged Entity." Great for any of the heritage St George fans that are still in denial

Actually, both the dragons and raiders are also on 12 points, with both of them above us due to the F/A difference.

And there are now 4 teams with a worse F/A that the Sharks.
Parramatta on -95
Manly on -55
Warriors on -98
Souths on -162

That's exactly what I was saying btr. The teams above us have the bye so add 2 points to us and whooshka up the ladder we go. The only other team without the bye is the gooners, but need I say more... it is ONLY the gooners!!!

Other names which my good buddy Jimbo omitted about the gooners include:

The Red n white monthlys!!!
The Dragon Queens.
Red neck V necks.
Browns cows!!!!

I remember listening to a radio call of a game between us and the chocolate soldiers years ago when both teams were pretty crap. Ray Hadley referred to both teams at half time as brown cows. I was listening to the game with a mate who is a penrith supporter and that comment cracked us up as it seemed to go in with the context of the game.
