Status of Hanbury & Mataka for 2010

Been away for a few weeks. WT playing well but I think we will just fall short again this year although anything is possible.

Anyway back to the main query- anyone know the status of Hanbury and Mataka for 2010? Have they been extended past end of 09? If they have been, then the WT squad is full for next season.

The way I figure it:

Backs:

Tuiaki, Ayshford, Ryan, Lawrence, Hanbury, Marshall. Moltzen, Lazarus, Gllant, Lui, Tupou, Daniela & Brown (13)

Forwards:

Gibbs, Payten, Laurie, Farah, Mataka, Ellis, Galloway, Heighington, Dwyer, A Schirnack, J Schirnack, Fulton (12).

So, unless Laurie walks after the talks to be held next week and we get to then pick up a replacement forward (prop please) we are full. Unless Hanbury and Mataka have not been signed for 2010- I cant get any confirmation on that but until I can I have to assume they are in- WT have to room for anyone else, and I reckon we are really thin on props unless they plan to bring up some of the junior props during the year.

Probables: (Reports these are probable signings but not yet official)
A. Taumata, M. Flanagan (ESL)

Not yet resigned:
Hanbury, Gallant, Mataka, Trimarchi, Galea, Payne, Dunley

Waiting to see how Tupou’s injury shapes up before committing to 2010
Fulton is a maybe/maybe not, no definite word yet either way.

Going: D. Halatau, J. Morris, D. Collis, P. Tagivi

Gallant would be mad to accept a paltry contract from us when we are chasing Tuqiri for fullback and Sheens comments that Moltzen is a better fullback that he is not part of our long term plans. He'd be better off joining the Police.

Thanks. I thought Gallant had signed on the dotted line....If we have the room I'd like to see Galea offered a renewel of contract. I'm also waited in eager anticipation of the SOO / International grade player WT will sign this year in line with Sheens policy of signing 1 for each year 2009 through to 2011.

Ah Teflon- where would we be without his magnificent judgement in player selection.......... I reckon with the performance of WT when he was finally forced to select Gallant at fullback and WT began winning with players playing in their best positions he should have been made to admit humble pie to the media and WT fans to bring his ego down a notch or two. But yes, I would not at all blame Gallant if he went to the NSWPD and gave Teflon the finger.
