Wonder if we'll see Sheens do something like this for his love child. Watch out MOTH
from the telegraph:
BULLDOGS coach Steve Folkes has launched a spirited defence of his under-fire halfback Daniel Holdsworth, labelling fans who have viciously turned on the playmaker "disgraceful".
In an email leaked on popular Bulldogs chat site The Kennel, Folkes hit back at supporters who have vocally fingered Holdsworth for the team's below-par form this season. Replying to an inquiry from a fan named Ajay, Folkes revealed he was "ashamed" of the hostile reception Holdsworth copped in the aftermath of last week's flogging to Penrith.
His two-part email response was posted on the forum this week, sparking further debate among Bulldogs fans who are adamant rookie half Aaron Groom should be blooded: "Daniel had a shocker last weekend by his own admission but his effort could not be faulted," Folkes wrote.
"It is extremely difficult to play as a halfback when your forwards are not winning the ruck and we continue to drop the ball.
Folkes stuck to his word this week, keeping Holdsworth at No. 7 for tonight's game against Gold Coast at Skilled Stadium.
Ironically, Groom has been drafted in to partner him at the scrumbase at the expense of injured pivot Ben Roberts (hamstring). But a stomach complaint is threatening to delay the former Manly lower-grader's debut.
Folkes also gave fans who wanted to advise the coaching staff on Groom a clip.
"How many of these support-ers you speak of have actually seen him play this year?" Folkes asked Ajay.
"I would think not that many of you."
The Bulldogs' scrumbase woes this week prompted the mid-season signing of Joe Williams from Penrith after the club had failed to lure Newcastle's Luke Walsh south earlier in the year.
But the club will be in a far better position next year, with Sharks half Brett Kimmorley all but certain to agree to a two-year contract.
Negotiations over a third party and a final payment figure were all that prevented the deal from being announced last night. "
