Before this season, you Eels fans told us knights fans that Steve Witt would be close to buy of the year. Well he really isn't living up to that hype. You eels fans knowing him best, can you explaine why he is not performing? Is it that lack of skillful players he has to work with or is it that he is just not playing with confidence?
You eels fans have a answer?

Cheers,
Thuga

To put it bluntly, OVERRATED.

That's the risk you take buying a player that has never played first grade.

Steve Witt has had some injury problems in the past, his confidence has been down, and that has affected his game. Witt had the POTENTIAL to be one of the buys of the year but unfortunately it hasn't turned out that way. Keep an eye on him though, the guy has talent, if the Knights stick with him he still could be something special.

Surprised Witt hasnt produced the goods at Newcastle, as mentioned seems to be a confidence thing (or lack thereof)
Also doesnt help when the forwards arent making the yards

Yeh we kept the better witt. Steve is hot and cold in form and injuries have been the major cause of that. Give him a bit of time.

He needs to run the ball more at Newcastle, he hardly gets his hands on it out there with Gidley at halfback, if he got his hands on the ball and took the line on some more he'd be closer to reaching his potential.

Steve Witt is a prime example of the huge jump in standard from Premier League to first grade. Star in PL, ordinary in firsts. (And he has had half a season to prove himself)

Stevie has talent...but when he was THE star in Premier League he had his brother by his side...you only bought half the talent

But watch him...he COULD play State of Origin in the future

Stick with Stevey, Knights, he'll shine through to become one of the real gems in the game. Its his first season away from the only team he's ever known in Parra, and when he left us he had no confidence and a bad run of injuries... bobcat ryan took a while to take to the bulldogs, but look at him this year!

Steve is one of the best blokes in the game, and it would be a real shame if his fans and team gave up on him now
