Back then, all I knew about League was that Parramatta played, but whenever I heard 'Simply the Best' I knew it was 'The football song'. I watch the clip for 'What you get is what you see' and try to comprehend just what a big thing that must've been at the time, to have a superstar like Tina Turner promoting our very own game and looking as if she had such a great time doing it.

On saying that, I thought this years' ad was brilliant. If only it played more on the telly,

i thought it was brilliant too and definitely gave me goosebumps. specially reg gasnier passing to mark gasnier (now that is just kinda heartbreaking).

yeh i was born in 81 so those ads are just my childhood in tv form. i remember running to the tv everytime they were on...they made me obsessed with Tina and Barnsey instantly, and i still am today!

its sad seeing so much footage of Norths though. poor bears
