Storm League Season starting soon!

The Storm League Summer Season will commence officially on Thursday December 11th at 6pm, Gosh's Paddock, Richmond.

The season will consist of the following dates:

11th December
18th December
15th January
22nd January
29th January
5th February
12th February
19th February
26th February
4th March

10 rounds of play. Registration cost (this is a Victorian Rugby League activity) is $50 per person (which covers public liability and ambulance etc). This can be paid either upfront, $30 upfront then $2 per game, or $5 per game. The VRL will have to ensure that for insurance reasons - you must be paid up for that game or they cannot allow you on the field.

Teams should consist of 8 players minimum, and upto 14 players (up to 6 reserves).

Registration forms will be available soon for download, or you can email mike@atomikcorp.com and I'll email a form to you when I receive it.

If you'd like to start your own team, get together some friends or just turn up on game day and we'll join you to a team!

It shouldn't be a problem. I'd have to check with the VRL, but I'm sure that you'd just have to pay from when you join (so $5 per week).

Thunderstruck - it would be great to see you gracing the field again. I hope we get more people wanting to join! The more teams the better the competition!

Will Gosh's paddock be ok after they had (drainage works???) going across the field!!!.

I think is a little bit left and more than likely the grass won't be ready

If the eastern side of the field is not available, we'll be running a pitch north/south and it should be about 70m long, 50 wide. We also should be able to run a game on the soccer pitches.

Storm League is the Victorian version (basically renamed for marketing purposes) of OzTag - a non-contact version of Rugby League.

All are welcome - we've had players ranging from age 7 through to 70 playing.

Storm League is a non-contact sport for all ages and all levels of fitness for both male and female players.

Some people are more serious than others which is fine. So if you are looking for something to pass the summer away, meet other Storm supporters and have a lot of fun along the way then come and join the rest of us on the 11th of Dec at Gosh's.

Even if you don't have a team, please let us know if you want to play as you can always join one of the teams - extras are always needed. Even if you can only play part of the season still come along.

No special clothing is needed - although it is recommended to wear an old shirt and shorts, as they can sometimes get ripped by mistake.

certainly reccomend it to all melbourne league-fans who are interested in playing the game. its a non-contact sport (everyones got the velcro tags on) and you dont need any skills or have played the game before!!!

last season i went along to try it out, and shortly after with a group of friends (all of which had not actually played the game before) started up a team and had a great time!!! unfortunately being on a thursday this year it may prove a little more difficult for me to get down there as i work but will just have to see how things go!!!
