IF this is supposedly true, and our players are involved, will they end up like Greg Bird - sacked on the spot?

Yeah they were at the club, doesn't mean they were involved. Nobody's been charged yet, so it's all speculation and whatever the victim has alleged will need to be proven

Yes, won't matter who it is they'll be as good as gone. I'd be very surprised if this goes any further though...

Hey moron, Greg Bird was CHARGED. If any Broncos are charged, don't worry your stupid little head - they'll be stood down.

And Gallop won't be the one standing them down. Cullen will be.

Ouch,

The difference with Bird is that yes he was charged by the police and immediately stood down by the club. He has not officially been sacked.

Given your clubs pretty harsh stance in the past in regards to alcohol related issues you would imagine if their are charges laid that the players would be stood down.

Providing any unbecoming behaviour actually occured, you can bet that once the Broncos have any amount of reliable information the players in question will not only be stood down, but likely their contracts torn up. Even if the player's are cleared of the more serious allegations, if they are found to be in breach of the club's strict code of conduct, they may no longer be Broncos as of next season.

This is, of course, providing anything took place at all - which we simply don't know yet.

There is no way this could be 3 NRL playing Broncos
Don’t sweat it and good luck
Benny’s relationship with the club deserves one more magnificent GF win before he hopefully can come south and resurrect the fortunes of the Dragons
Oh and in the GF; beating Manly by say 50 will do
Don’t let this crap spoil you sentiments after what was a great win against the Roosters
Enjoy the ride!

The latest media speculation is that they were thrown out of 2 hotels earlier on in the day, source: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24345350-1248,00.html

Regardless of the allegations, what the hell were these players doing treating the day after a semi final like mad monday? These blokes need to be pulled into line as that's just crazy, how f**ken hard is it to set aside 1 month a year during the finals that you don't drink? You'd think half these NRL players are alcoholics the way they carry on.

What I'm really hoping to hear is that it is some Aspley colts players (broncos contracted ones) or Broncos under 20's.... seems more likely

Broncos 'co-operating with police on sex claims' - CEO

UPDATE: THE Broncos have broken their silence on allegations three players were involved in a weekend sexual assault, admitting police were interviewing their players.

Broncos chief Bruno Cullen issued a statement late this afternoon saying the club had formed an internal investigation team as soon as they learned of an allegation that their players sexually assaulted a woman in a Valley nightspot on the weekend.

The Broncos investigation team would co-operate fully with police and "and collectively ensure all the relevant facts are recorded".

"I can confirm the players are also co-operating fully with the police and have presented themselves for interview this afternoon."

He said he had spoken to NRL CEO David Gallop today "and have assured him that we will keep him abreast of things at all times".

Mr Cullen said that at the moment "there are conflicting stories, some misrepresentation of the facts in the media, and generally wide and varied views in the public arena".

"I can understand that but will not engage in speculation – only in the facts", the statement said.

Earlier today, it emerged that the Broncos scandal had thrown NRL premiership betting into turmoil .

Bookmakers across the country have suspended grand final betting and all betting involving the Broncos until police complete their investigations after a woman made a complaint on Saturday night.

Cullen's full statement:

Full statement from Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen:

"I wish to update everyone on the Broncos’ position in regard to the allegations made against three players following an incident on Saturday.

"I am the only person officially authorised to speak about this from a Broncos’ perspective.

"That being the case, it is very difficult to answer all the individual calls coming into Broncos’ headquarters and impossible to agree to all the individual requests for comment. Having said that, there is little I can comment on at this point in time.

"As soon as the Broncos were made aware of the allegations, an internal investigation team was formed. While the club has not been contacted by the police about this matter, the main focus of the internal investigation team is to co-operate fully with the Queensland Police and collectively ensure all the relevant facts are recorded.

"I have spoken to NRL CEO David Gallop today and have assured him that we will keep him abreast of things at all times.

"I will also keep the media advised, but will not be making general statements until I am sure of my facts. At this point in time there are conflicting stories, some misrepresentation of the facts in the media, and generally wide and varied views in the public arena. I can understand
that but will not engage in speculation – only in the facts.

"I can confirm the players are also co-operating fully with the police and have presented themselves for interview this afternoon.

"As soon as I am sure the information I have is credible and the position is clear with regard to the investigation outcomes, I will make myself available for interview."
