Phil Gould has put to both Abdo and V'landys a suggestion to have about 10 weeks of games set up over the November, December, January period for a combined Jersey Flegg - NSW Cup competition to enable many players who have not been able to play much or any football because of the pandemic. This would also include games for the women's teams.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking it is a good idea as it will provide the likes of our juniors getting some game time which will also help the coaches work out who has potential to progress into the NRL.

It will make the off season shorter, if we can watch the games it would be good.
But the heat might be too much even at night time.

I like it, gives the young blokes some more playing time. You'd think they could combat the heat by increasing interchanges or playing in quarters.

Yes, I thought about that with the heat. I suppose they could have breaks every 20 minutes and I do mean breaks of about 10 minutes, not just a couple of minutes and at half time a good break.

Yes, the hest would be a concern, however, as some have already suggested, evening or night time, 20 min quarters, maybe a squad of 21 ie 8 interchanges (2 a quarter?), everyone must get a run etc.

8 games over 8 weeks seems a reasonable amount also.

Great idea but will need some sponsor support and TV time to become viable. Also every bastard to go out and get vaccinated to 70% of the population as the government won't give this any leniency like they do with NRL.

As posted above deal with the heat with increased interchanges and 20 min quarters.

Young up and coming players get some game time.

The game remains relevant during the soccer and cricket dominance.

Great stuff if they do it well.
