 at all the paranoia from all the nswankers in this thread.
And why the f**k is Anna Bligh writing letters about football games when half her state is under water? :?
I am not against moving the GF ever, however it must be done for the right reasons, not just because qld wants to have a go. I am yet to hear one convinving argument for this to be the case. Yes, Tradition is something that evolves, however tradition is a commodity you cannot put a price on. What are the 11 gf wins in a row that st george won, worth to the game ???
BB if you are seriously suggesting that the GF be moved to ANZ stadium you need help and quickly.
Nah i was saying that QLD doesnt need a bigger staduim.
I think it does, 30,000 less seats means there will be a several million $$$ shortfall to the NRL. I am sure it will need to be worthwhile in a monetary sense for the NRL to even consider moving it.
Suncorp is the best RL stadium in oz, however it is simply not big enough.
Whats next, they want the opera house, or they want the afl final, or the melbourne cup.
Or maybe we should just start a competition leaving Sydney out altogether ... They can play their NSWRL comp
the ARL certainly didnt win from the SL war.... News still owns half the comp and earns a fortune off the back of the game... SL certainly didnt lose...You tried that, and look what happened.
Who's comp did the broncs make an application to join ?
If you dont like it, piss off and start your own competition, oh silly me you tried that and failed.
Brisbane could play melbourne one week, sunshine coast the next, north brisbane the next, springfield the next, perth the next week, maybe adelaide the week after.
Just admit it, you need us more than we need you, what comp do you think the cows and titans would want to play in. The qld state cup or NSWRL/ARL ?
an 80K stadium isnt a prerequisite to hosting a GF... i would rather have a sold out 50K stadium of curious fans from WA than 80K league nuts because your actually spreading the game.
instead of preaching to the converted they should be looking at bringing the game to new fans and new markets.
the tradition card was made redundant when they moved the GF away from the SCG.
thats the dilemma... to consolidate your base or to expand...and not allow the die hard fans who support their side each week not get the chance to attend the game (wether from qld or nsw) for the sake of allowing curious fans to attend. There are 30 other weeks they could get to a game.meh, agree to disagree
because league nuts will get over it... they already spend there hard earned on the game... bringing the game to new fans will bring more money and interest to the game and plant the seeds in new markets. But bringing the Grand Final to new fans?
Why shouldn't the league nuts be able to watch the Grand Final hey?
