I thought we could separate all the pre match banter with a game thread to be created by someone on the day...

I'm looking forward to this.... The top 2 teams going head to head...

I think the only slight injury worry the Patriots have is Revis copping a slight head knock... Which he ended up returning to the game from.

Obviously Seattle have a big problem with Sherman's elbow... The scans will be crucial.

Predictions are useless until Sherman's diagnosis is known....

Sherman and Earl Thomas both banged up badly. If either aren't 100%, it might open the door enough for Brady to make some plays

If there is one thing Sherman can struggle with, it's those little scat type recievers.

Who's going to match up on Gronk? Kam can't go with him in coverage

I think Sherman will play regardless, but you can bet Brady will be testing him out early.
Could have been a different result for Green Bay had they tried.

For the Seahawks, this is their chance to cement their defence as the all time best.
For Brady, his chance to join Montana as 4 time SB champ as QB.

my only advice is the seagulls better have their practices behind closed doors and their walkthrough in the arizona stadium should have maximum security. and if that doesn't work have some alternate plays ready in case the patriots d lines up in perfect formation before the offense even sets themselves.

Deflate-gate? Report: Patriots being investigated for using deflated footballs

[&#8203, post: IMG"]

According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com, the NFL will investigate the possibility that the New England Patriots deflated footballs during the AFC championship game, which they won 45-7 over the Indianapolis Colts.

The game was marred by constant rain, which makes gripping the ball more challenging. Obviously, a less-inflated ball is easier to grip than a fully inflated one.

The league has specific guidelines on just how much pressure the ball must have — between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch, weighing between 14 and 15 ounces.
Kravitz believes the fine could be a stiff one if the Patriots are found guilty, even if they'll still play the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

There was a delay before the third-quarter-opening kickoff that might have included game officials investigating the balls the Patriots were using.

Although there hasn't been an NFL team accused or found guilty of this recently, former USC head coach Lane Kiffin — who, coicindentally, was named the front-runner in several reports to become the San Francisco 49ers' offensive coordinator — was accused of doing the same against Oregon in 2012 before losing his job during that season.

The Patriots have faced accusations that they've skirted the rules for years, and they were penalized for spying on the New York Jets during the 2007 season with the loss of a first-round draft pick and a hefty fine paid not by the team but by Bill Belichick himself.

haha. don't get butthurt.

I will wait and see what the investigation finds. That's the fair thing to do, after all. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, I will wait to see the evidence.

What? What do you mean the evidence was burned?

Oh, okay. Nothing to see here, move on.

The deflated balls issue probably explains the delay in the kick off in the 2nd half.

He's an Indy Beat writer, and if Luck or any other player had issues with the ball, they would of taken their issue to the refs...

Deflategate. Classic Pats. Still can't win without hints of cheating.

When Goodell messes up this punishment, the Simmons-Goodell conflict will be so amazing to watch.

But oh yeah, Go Seahawks

Hawks by a billion, just so everything can be right in the world.

Several abnormal balls were removed from Colts-Pats game

not sure why they would do it though?

Because they can't help themselves. They were always gonna wipe the floor with the hapless Colts. But they only know how to cheat. It's in their blood. Who knows what other shit they have gotten away with over the years.

easier to catch a softer ball in the wet..maybe

apparently it's easier to catch and throw a deflated ball.
This in a vacuum is a little "meh, who gives a shit. The game was a blow out, it didnt really change anything"

but we dont live in a vacuum. We live in a world where it seems every time something a little untoward, every time some team is accused of bending or flat out breaking the rules, it's the f**king Patriots front and centre.

well. in my one season of act gridiron, i can tell you that the flatter balls are a little more forgiving when thrown hard.
in terms of in the hand. even with the gloves.

but they dont have the same arc in the air. so i dont know how deflated they could be.

theyw ouldnt go nearly as far off a punt or a kick thats for sure
