Six group one winners to line up in the T J Smith
There will only be six contenders on Saturday for the $600,000 G1 Sydney City Lexus T J Smith Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on Saturday.
While only six will line up, they are six of the best sprinters in the land and the race will still be a great spectacle.
The three-year-olds will be looking to continue there winning run in the Sydney weight-for-age sprints this autumn after Paratroopers cleaned them up in the Canterbury Stakes and Racing To Win’s effort last week and they will be strongly represented with Snitzel (barrier 5), Stratum (6) and Virage De Fortune (2).
Representing the older horses will be Red Oog (4), Spark Of Life (3) and Glamour Puss (1).
The final field and barriers are below:

Think they are the only two that can win it...

Snitzel is flying! Virage De Fortune meets him 2.5kgs better than in the Oakleigh Plate. However the margin was 1 3/4 len and it was on a heavy track. Some handy sprinters here but I think that's the exacta...

Red Oog doesn't look to be in form. Spark of Life beaten 1 1/4 len by Snitzel last start. Not keen on Stratum. I am a Glamour Puss fan hoever I'm not so sure she's come up this prep as good as she was last campaign.

Its a toss of the coin job but I think the race is out of Snitzel, Stratum and Glamour Puss...UI might have to box the three for the trifecta...Stratum has worked ver very well at the track during the week and I think Randwick will suit Glamour Puss and its run this prep really havent been that bad

Racenet Preview -

Race 4 SYDNEY CITY LEXUS T J SMITH STAKES (1200m) at 1.45pm

Joice’s thoughts – Will depend on how the small field positions itself. Can see Virage De Fortune leading from her good alley but will Spark Of Life, Stratum or Snitzel take her on? Unfortunately we cannot bet after a furlong but one thing for sure is that they will go quick which should give Glamour Puss her chance to run them down. Look for value although may be a better race to watch than to invest heavily in.

Payne’s thoughts – Only six to line up here but what a race. Snitzel and Virage De Fortune the two winning hopes for mine but which one? Both have plenty of ticks but I’ll go with the filly Virage De Fortune who I think will be the better price when they jump. Snitzel is now doing what he’s always promised and will win or run second while Spark Of Life went a lot better at Warwick Farm last time and looks the one to fill third money. Just play the quinella.

Joice’s Tips – Virage De Fortune (6), Glamour Puss (5), Snitzel (3)

Red Oog bounced back to his best today! Looks like you need to be just in behind the speed the way that head wind is in the straight. Glamour Puss and the winner did that. Other winners have done so too.

Send Virage De Fortune back to Moonee Valley. Any kind of a straight, she can't win.

Snitzel held on well after sitting outside the lead into the wind.
