On Sports Tonight it was reported Parra's deal was $280,000 not $400,000

It leads me 1 of the following is true
1. It is a ioncentive deal base fee of 280K but if he plays rep, Parra make the finals, scores X number of tries etc he could get up to 400K

2. Sports Tonight have NFI

3. Smithy has finally got a bargin

4. it is 280K a game

what you say about rep things could very well be true.... i think it mite be the case

ST said that eels officials said it was Closer to 280 then 400
so no exact amount is specified

glad its not 400 though...a bit much

$280k isn't too much more than the $220k Newcastle have reportedly offered, I don't think he would have been blown out of the water by that offer. Incentive based would be good, but how the club can budget two players with $200k of incentives is beyond me. If they have the kind of money under the club then why not spend it? Smithy got a bargain, I doubt it.

There wasn't a hell of a lot coming off contract last year

Parra may well have seen that and not spent up to the cap so they had more money to spend this year when the likes of Tahu, Morrison, Monaghan, Pritchard, Riddell, Kite, Orford, Johns, K.Gidley and Cross all came off contract

its around 300k instead of 400k....thats about the crux of the matter and Manly ahve apparently dropped out fo the race for him and are more interested in Monoghan
