Doogs always seemed very keen to stay - I think the Knights would have to be naive not to see a bargain there.
As for O'Davis - he is an experienced and quality player. He could easily move elsewhere and command a decent salary, especially if he wanted to move to England. Greener pastures, more money - it must seem slightly attractive.
But I think he likes playing for Newcastle better, and for personal reasons doesn't want to leave - I think he would rather stay here than retire elsewhere. You spend 10 years at a club, little wonder he is reluctant to leave, but equally reluctant to stay.
The dilemma facing experienced players is that they feel they should be deserving of a bigger contract for loyalty reasons, but when faced with the figures they then tell themselves that they don't want to leave anyway.
Sounds like they're both staying - so is Quigley apparently, despite suggestions on this forum that he had already decided and signed to leave.
