Tahu's debut

Timana Tahu will play his first game for the NSW Waratahs on Saturday but his coach, Ewen McKenzie, is already tipping the former NRL star to reinvent rugby's outside centre position.

The 27-year-old former Parramatta and Kangaroos back will make his rugby debut from the bench in a trial against Queensland at Campbelltown Stadium as part of an experimental Waratahs outfit.

If McKenzie's right, it could leave new Wallabies coach Robbie Deans considering the prospect of a Matt Giteau/Tahu centre pairing for Australia.

A bit early to be talking up a Gits 12 Tahu 13 combination for Australia.

But f**k, can't be any worse than what we have now.

Good Luck T and welcome to the heart-break of being part of the Tahs.

Tahu will rip it up in attack, but he could struggle reading in defence.

Reading the defence at outside centre is extremely difficult.

Any league centre is as good as Mortlock.

Soft as during the world cup and crumbled under pressure.

Congrats you struggled to knock of nuffy countries, netherlone good ones.

FORMER rugby league star and Waratahs recruit Timana Tahu is relishing the chance to test himself against a Brumbies side he hopes will be brimming with Wallabies in their Super 14 trial on Friday evening.

Tahu feels he is up to the challenge after scoring a try during his long-awaited debut for NSW, against Queensland at Campbelltown on Saturday. Tahu crossed eight minutes into his second-half appearance.
NSW won 26-10.

Heard good things from people who attended the game.

Who'd have thunk it, an outside centre actually creating opportunities for his
outside men.

Can't wait to see what T does to the Bummies.

Tahu will go down as one of the all-time great rugby players.

can't be that hard....

Just another has been that the ARU has bought...

Will be the best in the world?

Like Lote and Rogers and Wendall were going to be? so far NO League player has come across and been the best in their position... Tahu will be the same.

agree, with the exception of Jason Robinson.

Tahu will make a big noise in aussie but will get the noise knocked out of him here and in the Republic.

Tahu v Nonu,,,,, should sort the man from the boy.

Tahu is a myth. As such, I'm sure the short-sighted know-nothing ARU will fast track him to the Wallabies.

Nonu is overrated... but hes very physical.... id love to see Tahu against young Benson Stanley from Auckland. all black legend Joe Stanleys nephew and St George and Kiwis outside back Chase Stanley's cousin. the guy hits like a truck.

Tahu is very lucky hes crossed over after the likes of Umaga, McAlister & Tuitupou left. Umaga and Tuitupou would have sent him to next week. with LEGAL shots...

What does Umaga know about legal shots? Not much if the Brian O'Driscoll disgrace is anything to go by. Filth.

Legal shots?? Oh i forgot you cant do shoulder charges in union.

Is Tahu legally required to wear a dress unless like the other union players.

Im always split on whether i want league players to do well in union, i dont like them because they left league but it shows what a joke of a game union is.

In this thread of seen alot of sh*t about how league players havent been good in union. Wendell Sailor hadnt even played professional rugby union and strolled hes way into the Wallabies. Another example Sam Harris plays for the Tahs which is representing the best NSW talent but yet in league he was playing for one in 8 NSW teams and wasnt that great either.

Btw your signature is so funny, cool joke man. A team winning one world cup and being a world icon. Yeah and Sharks are an NRL icon to because they choke like All Blacks.
