This is suggesting Sivo is a chance this week:

Team Tips: Maika Sivo is back training on the wing and is a chance to return for his first game of the season after Brad Arthur said he would get a few troops back this week. Hayze Perham would be the unlucky man to miss out. Sean Russell will also bid for a return to the wing after overcoming a lung injury and will likely take Perham’s spot of Sivo is not ready. Solomone Naiduki is bidding for a return from a hamstring injury, but will struggle to break into the team that beat the Panthers.

not sure how accurate it is, isn’t he still a few weeks away according to the eels

On foxsports they list Waqa as rnd 15. Interested to see the club injury report today.
I thought I read he was ahead on his recover. And was initially diagnosed for 6-8 weeks.

Bit worried being the 2nd last game after the rain that is expected to hammer Brisbane until saturday.

Turf could be a cow paddock by 4pm sunday.

Last thing we need is more injuries when everyone is just coming back.

Some merkin said on the ABC that Sivo has been doing nothing for 9 months but weights and is even bigger.

Agree. BA did say we'd get "a few back" this week or next.

I'm hanging on Marata TBH. Russell on the wing is fine.

================

BTW did anyone pick up that BA is playing EMU in longer stints in NSW cup ? Last week his first run was for 30 minutes. I expect that with origin 3 weeks or so away, Emu will be asked to really step up if we lose a middle or two.

I reckon Carty will be back in the 2s this week. Need to get minutes into him for when Matto makes The SOO Bench if Carty and BA are actually talking to each other.
Russell to wing and Hayze to the bench replacing Carty.
Other options include Rein or Jake in the 17 jumper.
Its very exciting. Like Gronky Im hanging out for Maratas return.
Once available, Id have Sivo in the 2s until he ups his workload, speeds up his ptb and makes meters out of the back field and not submit in the tackle. Lets Go Sivo!

Matto is not playing origin. Zero chance I reckon.
Jnr will be picked and that is all. RCG would be a maybe but I think Safiti,Jnr,Haas will be 3 middles.
Yeo will lock with Crighton and Murray the 2nd row.
Bench will be Haas,Jake, Papenhauzen,Martin....

If Sivo is fit he goes straight back in and plays the 80.
The guy is a professional rubba leeg player FFS.
Time to earn his money.

Yeah I imagine they could also carry a back on the bench like Perham and give him the final 20.
But fact is N.Brown was given a game in NSW CUP to get fit so I feel BA would maybe do the same with Sivo.

Haze at least learnt to get lower instead of running so upright and getting pushed back towards the 2nd half last week.

I dont get what they do at training for wingers. This happened with Guth, Bailey, Dunster, Russell and Perham.. They all ran too upright and corrected it in the next game or 2.

When a new winger joins, why dont they teach them that before the game especially when they are not specialist wingers. They are probably telling them after reviewing the game

The good thing about Perham is that he is very safe under the high ball.
