What's it an excuse for?

All our inconsistent form and bad defense and inept attack that is allowing lesser teams bully us out of games that we should be winning and frankly winning fairly easily. Bar the Cowboys, I think all our other losses should have been moderately hard to easy wins if we played our strong and aggressive power game the way we do when we are on for the full game.

So now all you apologists are priming the pumps for more reasons and excuses as to why we may struggle or even lose this game against Canberra.

Look if we were playing well and were a good consistent team that played great footy most(90%+) of the time that went down to Canberra to play their bogey team and lost, sure we wouldn't like it, but we would get it that there are for whatever reason just some teams and home grounds that certain teams/clubs have a problem with for years on end until they break the cycle.

But we aren't playing well and even though we have won enough games to be in the eight, we are hardly tearing it up enough to justify anyone having confidence in us or knowing what type of performance they will put in from week to week.

Sure we beat the premiers. Great, but since then we have been mostly gash, so whoopty doo, we can only go by what they are doing at present. One off games as impressive as they may be at the time will mean stuff all at the backend of the season if we can't string 3 or more high intensity super duper efforts back to back, which is what is necessary to take out the title.

So an ordinary performance or loss this weekend will not mean that we just lost to our bogey team down in Canberra, but just more of the inconsistent inept performances we keep dishing up from week to week, with the occasional great one thrown in to tease us all that we may have some chance at finals time. But the reality will be that a team that can't play well for the entire 80 minutes of games and do it at least for a handful of games back to back will have Buckley's chance of doing it at the pointy end against the best the competition has to offer.

Did you actually read the conversation that my post was part of? What the f**k do you think I was 'apologising' for? I was responding to the proposition that if we didn't give the Raiders a towelling then we weren't contenders. I disaggreed with that and stated my reasons. We could win big and still not be 'contenders' (whatever the f**k that means). And we could win small or lose and still be contenders. I didn't apologise for anyone, nor did I make excuses for anything. But continue with your rant....anyone who disagrees with my opinion is an apologist. Maybe they just disagree with you? Or is that too much for you to fathom?

Canberra is our worst opponent away from home when it comes to win%.

Its really bizarre this table when you consider Brisbane & Melbourne have been powerhouses since they entered the competition. Our record against them is excellent on the road.

Most teams have win% under 30% in Brisbane & Melbourne.

While Canberra since 1994 have been mediocre to say the least and we barely can ever win down there..

Is it the cold or just bad luck. We didn't even win down there in 2001 when we basically lost 4 games all year

Really, you didn't have to include that ginormous table that no one's going to read. We believed you the first time.

We understand what happens in September is what matters. Should we just not care about the whole season untill finals? I thought we where told before finals is just a few games and can't judge the side based on just that. I'm not keeping up.

The way I see it is the first 12 weeks you want to show promise which we have. But after origin you want to go on a run.
Winning games shows how strong your side is. I would say the more you win the stronger you are.

Wondering if we’ve changed up our training schedules recently. Captains run used to always be the day prior to game day, but last week and again this week the captains run has been 2 days out.

BA also confirmed Sivo won’t be a late entry on Sunday, but will be back for round 14, so I guess it’s a play off between Simonssen and Opacic on Sunday to see who stays in the team.
