If the ball goes out, the kicking team gets the scrum feed.

Teams often do this when they are behind with not long to go, or when the opposition is a bit slack

One infamous one was when Brett Finch tried it for Canberra with the scores tied. He kicked it out on the full and Newcastle got a penalty 20 out in front and won the game.

The attacking team receives a scrum where the ball enters touch. If the ball goes out on the full, you can ask Brett Finch about the consequences...
