Injuries have forced Parramatta Eels Head Coach Michael Hagan to make changes to his side for Saturday night's (5 May) match against the Sydney Roosters at Parramatta Stadium.

A hamstring injury that forced Timana Tahu out of the City-Country match will also see him missing from the Eels line-up with Krisnan Inu his replacement. Powerhouse forward Fuifui Moimoi suffered a knee injury in the loss to the Titans with Ian Hindmarsh returning from injury back into the squad.

Junior Paulo has been added to a 5 man Parramatta interchange bench.

Eels coach Michael Hagan says after two losses the match is a vital one for his side.

"It is important that we bounce back. The Roosters found form in their last match against St George Illawarra, but at the end of the day there are 2 points on offer and at home we would like to think we could get those points," Hagan told www.parraeels.com.au.

"We'll closely monitor both Tim and Ben Smith this week to see how they are feeling and Joel Reddy will be on standby should Jarryd Hayne not come through Thursday night's match." Hagan added.

A fairly solid team, I think.

Hope the prognosis on Fui is good.

Joel would be the natural second pick in the outside backs...

Cannings is rewarded for average form unfortunately.

Paulo has been added to the bench, Tsoulos isn't doing anything in PL and then Woods is probably not quite ready to be thrown into firsts. With Fui out, Cannings, poor form or not is the next best choice.....

I know and I don't disagree with the selection but I just hope he realises that he is on borrowed time.

Paolo has been very good and Fa'aoso could also play up front. I have been watching the Premier League as well.

true, i guess with inu already there as well....was thinking maybe how burt would go on the wing but you wouldnt want to change the team around to much would you.

I think despite what some may think, Luke Burt has been good this year. Sure he isn't Billy Slater or Matt Bowen but he can be quite dangerous expecially if we can get some second phase happening.

Cannings is not a world beater but there would be a few teams out there that would sign him up in a flash.

Our major problem is in the halfs noteably Brett Finch who is playing like sh*t. We have Green and Keating who are killing it. Finch has not done much since playing with us, How long do we carry him for? He wasn't affected bu the Bug last week yet he played like he had the bug.

Interesting that Fa'aaso was overlooked. Last game his hands let him down so I guess that was it.

Personally I think Burt has been outstanding. I would hate to see where we would be without he and Hindy. His goalkicking alone should get him picked but seriously he is probably our most dangerous player - at the moment !

I wouldn't say that Green is killing it at the moment and Keating has been very consistant and still finding his feet in a team that's dominating week in week out.

I can't recall a match where his hands haven't let him down. He has woeful ball control which is a real shame!

Fa'aoso needs to work on his handling first and foremost.

I know that Cannings form hasn't been the best but he is working very hard at training on getting things right..... a few people that made it to the training session at Mounties will attest that he is his own biggest critic.

Peeps...any of the backs in PL besides Reddy and Lett ready for a call up to firsts if needed?

I say that because it looks as though, with the injuries and call ups, this presents what we collectively have been after??

Looking at the PL backs I am assuming none of those guys are ready??

no i agree on burt, was more thinking it would make reddy more comfortable, playing his preferred position..i am a big burt fan and he i good enough to be able to move to wing imho..

I don't get this whole bad handling thing. He got over excited with offloading against the Bulldogs and made some errors. I don't see how that means that his handling is any worse than the other players that made similar errors.

I would like to see Cannings develop into the player you think he can be Colonel, I know you can see the potential but so far he has been fairly ineffectual in attack and has shown some weakness in defence. If we had the luxury I think some time in Premier League would help him but with Fui out I think he is needed in first grade.
