Tell the Full story

Why doesn't Ray Hadley tell the full story? THE FULL STORY.
St George flogged Parra on Friday night.. No doubt about it. Saints had a lot of players missing. What about the Eels. TEN OUT and the MONEY MEN
Chris Armit, Aaron Cannings, Corey Pearson, Nathan Cayless, Nathan Hindmarsh, Adam Peek Luke O'Dwyer, Jamie Lyon, David Vaieliki, Ronald Prince. Ten blokes who would have been in the startying line up.
Parra are at the top of the Prem League, Jersey Flegg and won the Harold Matthews undefeated. In ninth place in the NRL.
Hadley is too big for his boots. Where did he Roach and Fulton become the spokepeople for what is good for the game?
Instead of bagging Smith they should be thanking him for ensuring the Eels continue to produce quality citizens and players for the NRL. I heard his interview with Dr Tony today. In my opinion, I think he sailed very close to defamation of character by insinuating Brian Smith had a mental problem. Australia used to be the land of the fair go. Not any more. Its dog eat dog, and slip the boots in while you have them down.

I wouldn't rate Pearson, Prince and Peek as players worthy of being in our best 17. And I doubt Armit and O'Dwyer would make the starting side if everyone was fit.

I agree with you on Hadley though, his motivations aren't honest and he goes too far a lot of the time. This silly feud with Smith is pathetic and immature, it's sad to see somebody embarress himself on radio the way Hadley does. Given he's just lost one of his best mates I think Hadley should be trying to make peace with some of his enemies. He must have been badly hurting after Chippy's passing and I sympathise with that, it's just a shame he can't see how his actions can hurt others also.

Not meaning to name drop, but Chippy was a very good friend of mine. I knew him for over thirty years and he was a deadset champion. A fair dinkum bloke. Most of the things he said, he did with tongue firmly planted in his cheek. It was very sad to see him passd away when he had achieved so many things in his life. Jim Huxley was another very dear friend of mine, and he passed away about a week after Chippy. Two of the very best journo's on Rugby League.

I always liked Chippy. Although I often disagreed with his opinions he still had respect for others in the game, even those he was criticizing. A good league writer/ presenter presents the facts and his strengths are in how he says something, not what he says.

When I say Chippy was "a very good friend" of mine. I meant that loosely. I hadn't spoken to Chippy for probably five or six years, but I used to get the odd card from him. The last time I spoke to him was about the State of Origin about five years ago. I mentioned to him that the original thought about a State of Origin concept was raised by the great Ken Thornett in his book "Tackling Rugby" published about 1965. He agreed with me and told me that he would mention it next time the matter of State of Origin and whose concept etc etc it was.
I had a letter from Jim Huxley about two months before he passed away.. Sadly, I never replied to it. He was a lovely bloke and a absolute champion for Rugby League especially in the bush

Actually pp,

My sympathies go out to you knowing those two people were close to you.
I hope the hurt doesn't last too long.

parra pete.

You have to understand that us fans including those who have supported Smith as recently as 3 weeks aga a very dissenchanted with whats going on with their club. All we ask for is a competative team, nothing else.We asked and will continue to ask Brian for the good of the club to step aside, and possibly take on a more consultancy role or just have a break from the game.

Hadley's role in all this is much more "sinister" infact you are right it's just about boardering along the lines of "evil" his two collegues are associated with the Manly club! and are obviously on a secret campaign to get Lyon at the club. Peter Peters is another one who is giving to Smith!! in an interview with Brett Hodgson, he did his best to to to publicaly slander Smith, by asking Hodgson about Smiths supposed bad habits. to Brett Hodgson's credit he chose his words carefully and didn't really give Peters to much ammo.

these men are doing just as more damage to our club! than what Smith is doing. and the sooner this nightmare goes away the better for all of us.

Hadley is a goose, no arguments there.

Doesn't explain our lack of enthusiasm in the second half against the Dragons.

No one here should be blaming injuries, we have ther personell to play better than we are at the moment.

Its the first grade players that are running sideways, not the fillins.

Hadley should show proof of this "letter" or shut up.

The problem is though pete, Brian recruited big this season as to alleviate the problems injury forced on us last year. It shouldn't be a problem and regardless with the players that were on the field we should have done what they did to us....

That's fine. I agree. What I am saying is the Club currently leads the Prem League, Jersey Flegg and has TEN of its major money men on the sidelines.
Ten of those blokes who played on Saturday nite would have been in Prem League if EVERYONE was available. St George ran away with the game at the 60th minute. Until then it was 8-6.
Changes to onfield staff are needed. Calls for the head of Brian Smith are TOTALLY unfair and un Australian

Thats true, but why if the lower grades are travelling well aren't these players being put into first grade for those players who are struggling. You want your lower grades to be putting pressure on your top grade for spots. They have been in the last few weeks but we see more movement between Flegg and Premmies and changes have only been made if forced by injury. We have seen two players dropped due to form - Burt and Kativerata. Dykes went as far as the bench after being our best player early but surely more changes need to be made when young blokes are consistently playing better than those in the top grade. Let them battle back from PL rather than battle on in firsts...

Parra Pete...the fact that we leaked 29 points in the last 20 is what worries me the most...at home where we SHOULD be most feared...against what was supposed to be a substandard opposition....if we cannot secure those wins then it has to be a cumulative effort to lose and that means it is far more reaching than on the field.

I have been an ardent supporter of Smith over the years and gave him to the end of this year to see if he could turn around this fall from grace of ours. As the weeks go on it appears that there is something horribly wrong...particularly if we lose 4 on the trot at home...the most recent 2 we were just simply rolled over and received it from behind. That is distressing.

Smithys' worn out his welcome mate...I have always said to people over the years who else would coach our team when they have bagged Brian but now he just needs to go...he can't do anymore with our players given our last month of football.

I don't think its an issue of "who will replace BS" anymore. It doesn't matter who steps-in for the remainder of the season but it is obvious that the players just aren't responding to his methods. What if Smith decides that he has had enough and just calls it quits, someone will have to take over so they may as well give that person a shot in the interim with BS consulting because things cannot get any worse.

I agree that Hadley is a big mouth and a goose. I also know he loves the eels. His comments about Smith could be the same as ours. That is - A fed up supporter.

I'm glad that Bolts is putting the pressure on Smith.

I second those sentiments. I can't stand Hadley but in this instance he is doing us a service.

If any one thinks that Hadley is doing the club a service then they have a lot to learn about loyalty and about what it means to be in a team. It is one thing for fans to want change its another thing when people in the media with a hidden agenda try to effect change using their position and fans as a means to an end.

If it comes down to a choice between Smithy or Lyon I'd pick the former. I'd rather Parramatta take out the wooden spoon than support a team that let crap like Hadley and Lyon dictate terms.

If Brian Smith is to go it should be because he has out lived his usefulness, not because Lyon left.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. However my opinion is that Hadley is doing no more than voicing publicly and loudly what I and many others are expressing here in a rather limited exposure. Hadley's agenda is not hidden, in fact it is very much out in the open, it is to get rid of Smith, an agenda which I may add is also very compatable with that of many fans on here and elsewhere. Nothing hidden about it at all. I believe Hadley expressing our opinions is indeed a service as it appears Fitz takes no notice of the fans themselves but he does react to media pressure.

As for your last point on Lyon it really has nothing to do with him. It is not a matter of choosing between the two, one has already gone and the other should go join him in retirement.
