Tendulkar is a bad sport: Gilly

 the Aussies don't shake hands on field with a brave and defeated captain.

Why didn't Tendulkar shake hands? Let's have a think Einstein, perhaps just because he and others might have been fuming over the bullsh*t behaviour of the Australians, so thought it would be hypocritical to socialise with them and pretend nothing's wrong... just a hypothesis, but a plausible one.

Why did he lie? Who said he lied, oh, that's right the hypocritical disgrace that's Hayden, holier than though Gilchrist and Symonds... well, :sarcasm:

Just try and think logically for a second here JJ, even though you don't want to:

It was widely reported last summer than Tendulkar said he didn't hear what was said, then a few days later he came out and backed Harby's claim that he didn't say Monkey.

Now, given that he quite clearly changed his story, he has blatantly lied.

I'm sure that you will somehow find a way to refute that though. You do, after all, support racism if it is directed at Australians. Or perhaps you're one of those blokes that believes you can't be racist against caucasions? Which one is it JJ?

he's racist against Symonds

posted pictures of monkeys in threads about him after the Singh drama

also defended Singh calling him a monkey believing it was OK to do so even after the crowd drama in India just before last summer

it seems JJ hates Australians but he hates black Australans even more

I fid the whole 'I'm going to abuse the f**k out of you on the field, but when we're off it, I'll be your best mate' philosophy ridiculous.

To be honest, I find all sledging to be outside the spirit of the game. Cricket is about batting, bowling and fielding. Not this 'mental disintegration' crap.

I don't do it on the field, it's just juvenile.

See, I look at the world differently mini.

In-fact, I believe sledging should not be restricted to the cricket field and should be used in general society when required.

You know, when someone is struggling to complete their ATM transaction within about 30 second, they deserve to be sledged.

When someone is crawling in the right hand lane, they deserve to be sledged.

When someone is walking towards a travelater and suddenly stops right at the bottom, they deserve to be sledged.

Discrimination against the Australian cricket team is alright, on account of them all being utter jerks.

I didn't know 'monkey' was a slur towards Caucasians either Hevy, lol.

Pretty sure Hevy said Australians not Caucasians - in that he was referring to a slur made against an Australian player. Is Symonds not Australian?

I had huge respect for Tendulkar which he built over a lengthy career, but sadly reputations can get torn down quickly and that happened last summer.

In my eyes, the only bloke who came out of that whole drama (from both sides really) with his character intact was Kumble. Handled a very difficult situation with class...

Exactly. The only people who purport this "what goes on the field stays on the filed" sh*t is Australia.

You can't be a set of wankers on the field and 'nice guys' off it. To some its odd, to some of other cultures its just insulting.

As for Tendulkar, i can't recall enough of the issue to determine whether or not he changed his story. If anyone has links i'd be happy to read them. All i know is that he stuck up for his teammate. Whether he lied or not no-one can truly say but you stick up for your mate first and foremost and thats what he did.

It also doesnt help for the opposing argument when Symonds himself said he coudln't be certain what Harbhajan said. And also when your other main witness is a flat out wanker in Matty Hayden whose opinion may be slanted by his hate for the 'obnoxious little weed'.

The other issue here is Indias abuse of their power in the game. No doubt they did that, but hey, England and Australia had ruled the game for its first 120 odd years so unfortunately thats just the way it goes. I certainly dont like it and find the ICB to be arseholes.

But ultimately, for Gilly to come out and call Sachin a bad sport when he played in the most abusive and disrespectful cricket team for over a decade is one of those "glass house" moments.

I still respect Gilly as one of the few respectable Aussie cricketers from this team...but to come out now and say this to help sell a few books is rather odd.

Step from out side your little indian box dude

theres plenty of sledging going on in a lot of sports, eg afl, league, soccer, union, boxing, basketball etc......all happy to shake hands afterwards

why is cricket different? because indian fans and aussie bashers say so? LOL

I'd say because it's not a contact sport.

Show me a contact sport (or anything approaching a contact sport) where there is sledging?

you could pop your head into a union or league scrum, watch the carryon in PL soccer.

Sledging is rampant.
