Just heard on the Radio News that Terry Hill has announced his retirement from Rugby League.

Having signed a one year deal with Souths this year he has pulled the plug on football. He has said that injuries have caught up with him.

Terry was probably a bit guilty of the "One Year Too Many" syndrome.

Does this mean we will see more of Tezza on the Thursday Footy Show?

It's a possibility yes. I think he'll be 32 this year so it's possible of being one year too many.

Terry Hill retires

16 March 2004

South Sydney centre Terry Hill has retired from rugby league.

Hill, who re-joined the Rabbitohs this season, is understood to have ended his 15-year first grade career because of persistent injury.

The 32-year-old played 230 first grade games for five clubs - Souths, Easts, Wests, Manly and the Wests Tigers.

He also played 14 games for NSW, nine Tests for Australia and toured with the Kangaroos in 1994.

He was a member of Australia's World Cup winning side in 1995.
Hill made his debut with Souths in 1990 but played only one season with the club before joining Easts.

He re-joined the Rabbitohs this year as one of the clubs' star signings but did not play in the Rabbitohs' opening premiership game at the weekend because of a knee problem.

In his day Terry Hill was IMO a great centre and even though I've never been a Manly supporter I always felt that Hill was a great addition to the NSW SOO teams.

No doubt the Rabbitohs did look at his recent record before putting pen to paper and unfortunately the gamble hasn't paid off for them. I hope they aren't left too short in the pockets by his departure.

I knew it!

I had a feeling he'd never get on the park for Souths!

Ha!

Hill was a top player, Always remember a game at Marathon, where he absolutely pounded poor old Hughesy, but Hughes had the last laugh when he scored what turned out to be the match winning try, ran away from Hill to score it. No wonder he ran away from him, Hill had terrorised him all day.LOL.

He'll be remembered as the player with the mouth.

I know a few first grade players and they all reckon when it comes to sledging, no one does it like Terry Hill.

I think it was a good idea on his part. Alot of players don't last till that age and he has had a good run.
I think it's also a good decision on his part not to take any money from Souths.

i cant believe he is taking a cent of Souths money. he is entitled to half of his contract and would have been entitled to all of it if he played one game. what a joke.
