Wonder what Harris will respond to Langers assessment that he’s a useless merkin? That he’s a gnome?

I'm as big a Renshaw fan as anyone, but once again his top score so far in the shield has been 89 with an average of 23. I hat it, but I get it.
He's got to go back to scoring a bag full of runs.

Well, the best opener apart from the opener who is the leading run-scorer in the Shield, anyway.

I suppose it's tough to follow the Shield in LA...
They should both be there and MMarsh left right out. 6 specialist batsmen. Head can throw a few pies as the 5th bowler.

He's been performing just as well, if not better, than the Marsh brothers.

And Renshaw, at the very least, shows guts, and a desire to fight for his wicket.

Our top order batsmen have been basically throwing their wickets away in every match, and we shun a batsman who (if nothing else) puts a high price on his wicket?

Cricket Australia has lost the plot, well and truly...

Not really.

Renshaw 6 inns, 140 runs, top score 89, average 23
MDarsh 3 inns, 196 runs, top score 151, average 65
SDarsh 4 inns, 362 runs, top score 163*, average 67.

Renshaw has been pants, sadly. He had a cracking county season but has failed to find that form yet

Fair enough - I stand corrected!

The Marsh brothers still suck, though!

Harris has been easily the best opener this year
If by year you mean the start of the 2018/19 shield season, then yes. If you mean the 2018 entire year, then no. Renshaw has 6 first class tons and 4 50’s this year.

Agreed. I hope Renshaw can find form again. We need him playing well if we are even to be slim chance in the ashes.
Shsun Marsh is king of shield cricket. Guess we'll see how that translates in the tests.

He's frustrating, but Shaun Marsh isn't the one we should be worried about, you know what you'll get with him. He's a solid cricketer, probably not a genuine test batsman but better than a state cricketer. He's good for a couple of dodgy innings, a couple of decent ones and probably a big hundred every five or six tests. Great to watch when he does get the hundreds, too, and he can pretty much bat 1-6.

Bits and pieces Mitch is the problem...

Renshaw has been trying to find some form for about a year now, if he was any good he would have found his old form by now.

I think we need to move on.

In fact, Renshaw is still 5th in the world for 2018 FC runs despite having batted in only 4 FC matches since breaking his finger in June.

He's equal second (with a few others) for FC hundreds for the year with 6. And he scored the bulk of those runs in England, where we have historically struggled since the Steve Waugh days.

To suggest that we should move on from a 22 year old who can do that is, IMO, absolutely f**king lunacy

Snap!

Lol.
When was the last time we had a 22yr old batsmen who already had 10 FC centuries? Most 22 year olds are still getting by on the old ‘they were rushed in to shield cricket too young’ excuses.

Renshaw was brought into the side in SA after Smith, Bancroft and Wanker got banned. He then got injured before the Pakistan tour.

Isn't he therefore an incumbent?

If he was one of the dildo marsh bros he would've slotted right back in.
