Out of favour G.B. prop Jamie Thackray is being allowed to sign for the Rhinos for the rest of this season .Thackray was supposed to begin a three year contract with Leeds at the end of this year but Peter Sharp ( Hull F.C. coach ) is quoted as saying " it's best for Jamie if he moves now ".

Serious? I'd assumed it would be an end of season move.

What's doing I wonder, Hull seem to be travelling OK on the field - 11 straight wins...?

Wow I wonder why they did that?

I've heard Thackary has had some off field dramas but right now, I'd say hes one of Great Britains first choice props along with Fielden and Morely.

I dare say Leeds have offered huge money with the thought Toopi can't make it til next season

I wouldn't say he was in the top four or five GB props this year, in fact he is clearly not in the top few at Hull, but if he's not doing any good at Hull maybe he'll find his feet at Leeds. When he first played for GB (was that last year? it seems like ages ago) he was supposed to be the next big thing but wasn't that good and has dropped off since then.

Stories on local Yorkshire TV put it down to Jamie wanting to spend less time travelling to Hull and more time with his kids. Guess he must live somewhere over Leeds way, in addition to probably a little extra cash on offer for him to go now before the movement deadline.

This is the party line but Hull train just outside of Hull on the west side of town . Thackray probably still lives in the Cas area . He could drive to training in just over half an hour . It's main road virtually all the way .The travelling story is complete BS as far as I'm concerned .Thackray has discipline problems . This is why Hull offloaded so quickly .

I will take the gamble on Jamie Thackray ... I am a big fan of the the guy on the field when he is switched on. Here is hoping our coach (I am a Rhinos fan obviously) Tony Smith can get the best out of him. I believe he will play a massive part in our title aspirations this year :D

Now I think about it I've read numerous stories of Danny Brough, Peter Lupton and someone else car pooling from Hull to Castleford for training on a daily basis. It's about 45 minutes drive I think they've said in interviews? So yeah, sounds like there wer eother factors at play, and it;s taken him a while to earn his start in the Leeds sqaud.
