Did he make the Penrith side in Melbourne not last year, but the year before? I know he travelled down with the team but I cannot recall if he actually played in 2002?

I remember Lewis also came on for Panthers I think in 2001 again in Melbourne and he may have played the game after that as well yet he was still eligible to be Rookie for the following season, as he was a substitute and not in the original 17.

If this is the case with Stevie then I imagine he might be eligible. :?:

No, he's not eleigible. I remember him figuring prominently in our golden point win against the Cowboys last year...

We know that Big Mick, but my question: Is there a qualifying selection put in place as to a number of games played previous season in the starting side or is it based on them being a selected to play as a substitution which enables them qualification the next year?

My understanding was that if you had played a game of First Grade in the starting line-up the year before than that made you ineligable.

But coming of the bench in a first grade game the year before was alright.

Yeah that was pretty much my understanding too....so on this understanding Stevie would *not* be eligible considering he was a definate starter for both games.

Have you just named him your Rookie of the year Big Mick? Or did you actually enter your vote on a official site? Maybe the ruling has changed! :?
