'Having character' doesn't mean players or coaches need to act like dicks, either.

When did we get so precious? Its one thing if he was swearing or blowing up completely but blowing a kiss and pointing at scoreboard is fairly innocent, not being dick at all IMO.

That tigers fan coming out and acting like he was poorly treated is a joke, what a pathetic man he must be to whinge like that after the event. If you insult a mans family, a mans son and walk away with only a blown kiss and a point at the scoreboard in return then you got off light. It was a funny response to a f**kwit who cant handle a loss.

Did you REALLY just tell someone to "kick the bucket"?

f**king kids... Well, there's another for the ignore list.
unknown is that full of shit, when he goes to the toilet he pops a vein in his forehead and leaves bitemarks in the toilet door. Same thing happens when someone is making love to him.

If you hurl abuse or banter at the footy, It;s to be expected that it's returned.

What Cleary did was very very mild, and actually quite amusing.

There have been worse reactions by coaches towards fans in the box. Cleary was as mild as it got. But of course you have absolute f/wits like Cooper on NRL 360 last night connecting it with what happened between Cleary and the WT in 2018.

Yep exactly, I mean I can understand some people saying its 'unprofessional' but I dont even think its a bad look. It adds to the spectacle, there will be more people watching next time we play as the rivalry has just a little more feeling to it now.

It would be one thing if Ivan was being a dick to tigers fans unprovoked or gloating in the press about beating the tigers but he literally just blew a kiss and pointed at the score board.

Hooper tried that tack, but he soon got shouted down, even by Rothfield.
So did Vonny and Mick Ennis. They laughed so hard and long at him, he started giggling like a little girl when he realised how stupid he sounded.

But still, like all of his tirades towards the Panthers, he couldn't let it go and had to moan about it on NRL 360.

Vonny's response to Hooper was real amazing she said 'your sounding like a salty wests tigers supporter'

Cue laughter.

Too early to praise Ivan. His history says this is more a fluke than anything. Sincerely hope I’m wrong, but it’s his 14th year as a head coach. Plenty to go on.

To be fair he helped guide us to 4th in 2014 and the Warriors made the GF in 2011. He has had his good seasons.

Not so much a fluke as he's got a good side to work with and good people around him, which hasn't always been the case.

Unprofessional or not. I thought it was funny that he gave it back to the fan in a polite way. Honestly it probably embarrassed the fan more having him react in that way than if he blew up.

Coaches go crazy in the boxes all the time. Reacting to players mistakes. Referee decisions and sometimes the fans. Its usually entertaining to see.

But best of all we could be building up a legitimate rivalry with Tigers that is fuelled by hate. I mean its pretty one sided hate at the moment. But still rivalry is great for both teams.

Sure, but he’s had a lot more ordinary seasons than good ones. You coach long enough and you’re going to have some good years.

His win rate is below 50%

He’s never coached a team higher than 4th in the regular season

Interesting fact: No coach has ever won their first premiership after the 300 game mark.

He’s a decidedly average coach.

The squad was built by someone else.

He showed at the west’s tigers he’s got no idea how to build a squad, dare say that’s why the club brought in a committee to decide.

You think if he took over as coach of the Roosters squad of the last 10 years he would be @ 50%??

He took on us who were a basket-case - That's being polite.
Tigers - Shambles
Warriors... Say no more...

If he walked into a squad not rebuilding, i think your opinion would be quite different.
