Thats It. Ive Finally Left The WORL Forum.

I cam across to here a few weeks ago and said to myself "I can still contribute to here and to WORL". And for the first week it seemed O.K. The WORL forums still had some credibility. But now......

It's just too much. I've finally given up on it. Given up on the torture of searching through topics to find something resembling a reasonable conversation. And if I do find one, it's buried pages away by the next day.

Since the core has defected to here, it has just got worse, it is a quagmire and sad for a community that once had so much to offer.

I just had to get this off my chest, the rleague.com website is still good, but my disillusionment with the forums has now reached an all-time peak.

I even tried to start an argument there but the next day the topic was buried so far into the turf that I'm sure the intended recipient didn't even catch a whiff.

I'm just keeping an eye on ny St George Home Ground thread now which is still hanging in there but it's days (or day?) are numbered.
There is still a large number of people who see the discussions but I agree with you...

It was informative and very amusing at times but I believe it got a little too big for its boots and that obviously started to affect the judgment of those who controlled that site.

Well, I signed up for these forums earlier this evening, after doing a bit of lurking over the past few days I still intend to frequent the WORL forums, as I feel a sense of loyalty (after all, I am a Bunnies fan ), as well as post here. As some may recognise from my posts at the WORL forums, I have a somewhat evangelical zeal for Rugby League, and am pleased to impart any knowledge about "The Greatest Game of All", to those who might care to listen. So, even though many of the recent posts at the WORL forums have been of the "Girds is a babe" type, at least they come from footy fans who might be receptive to further their knowledge and understanding of Rugby League. I know most of you guys (and guyettes) here have already "matriculated", and need no such further education I figure I can do more for the promotion of the game there, than I will be able to do here. So, even though it may be a task akin to the Romans facing the Barbarians at the gates, eventually the hordes will be civilised I shall return !

There's still hope. The group at WORL have set up forums that are independant of ninemsn. This seems to be going O.K.

While I'm nowa Legend's World of Sport Man, I can now still make posts on WORL.

So the future is brighter anyway.

Yeah, I still post in WORL. But the visits are getting less frequent. We'll see how it goes.

Well, according to MattO, all that joined this site only did so to enhance their egos and profiles. It had nothing to do with the way the site was run and the way you were treated by Matto if you did not fall into line with his opinion. The forum members assistance required was a great read and it was good to see all the good posters voice their opinion about what was happening. I know Matt has his own independent forums going now and that's great for rugby league to have so many options.

I, however will make no apologies for starting this site as it was what the forum members were crying out for. I placed this community as a link on WORL but it has been removed. That was not spamming in any way as I have done this on several other sites with no repercussions. A website is on the way that will cover all sports but will mainly have an emphasis on RL. I think it is essential to have a website attached to a forum as standalone forums are hard to promote on their own(thanks Bronco).

BTW MattO, if we all joined this forum to enhance our egos and profile, why did you join? Was it to enhance your ego and profile or was it to keep an eye on what was happening, or to play serial pest in the chat room every week?

I came here to talk footy. The WORL Community is still great for Saints stuff, but I would say has been Saturated in other areas making it harder to get a point across let alone be heard. That's why I came across to here for more general footy talk. There is all so a higher quality of poster in general.

No matter what you think of Matt O, who is a friend of mine, what's the point. Anyone who is a moderator or an Assistant Manager on either Community, do you really think you yield that much power that you can control either of the forums? If someone doesn't answer you,you may consider it rude, but it's nothing to lose sleep over.

As for the Web site, articles come from a variety of sources, so it's not exactly one persons soul oppinion.

It's really a non issue.

The Saint, I agree with you entirely. I have'nt seen anyone on this site deliberately bag MattO or WORL. It is still spoken about quite often and everybody willingly commutes between this site and WORL, even me. People enjoy having the alternative and I have not seen anyone on this board attempt to wield their power and influence others. I would like to think this site is quite the opposite. We even have forum elections looming for two new assistant managers that will be voted on by the members, not the managers and I wouldnt know Gav, Willow or Ozbash if I tripped over them in the street. People also have a right to speak their mind and raise any concerns they may have and these concerns were not properly addressed on WORL, hence the mass exodus.

The only other thing I will say on this matter is have a read of what Willow said on WORL on theforum members assistance required thread. It speaks volumes about what everyone is feeling.

I just had a post which was ALL about football deleted in the Dragons section of the WORL forum.
I was talking to Lord Ted about Blacklock and the rumours. While I was at it, I invited Rapidfire over here to LWOS to talk more footy.
Afterall, we're all here to talk about sport aren't we? Should it matter where?
My words were deleted.
Sure I wanted Rapidfire to know about this place but I wasn't bagging WORL or saying anything which would attract litigation. I didn't even mention MattO's armpits!

Since I officially joined the the WORL forum last year, I have promoted it heartily on my own website and told loads of people about it through other means.
I haveNEVER had any post deleted. I know the boundaries.
You know what I'm saying is true, I'venever given any moderator cause for concern.
I complained about this and for the first time ever, I felt the urge to copy my post before sending it off. Not a nice feeling.

So what's going on? Since when was it friendly policy to act as if this forum doesn't exist?
I've not having ago at you at all, in fact it's great to see you here mate.
If you went on holidays last month, you may have been denied knowledge of this communities' existence.

I don't know what is exactly going on.You'd have to askSteven or Matt? Thereare many Assistant Managers soyou can't point the finger with out asking first. You could send one of those anoying E-mails that got to all the Moderaters and Assistant Managers.I got one letter from some idiot saying he loved the show and how we should bring the Footy show to Canberra or something.

I just think you should get the facts before pointing the finger at any individual.

Well I'm not pointing the finger at anybody in particular. It's irrelevant who did... I don't care about that.
I'm suggesting that the culture of the place has changed dramatically and LWOS is seen as being the enemy.
That attitude is coming from one person who sees fit to put his associates in brackets after his own name.

But that's it Saint. I've got one thread (Search For Home Ground) running there which I think is more important than any of this and I'm keeping an eye on that.
I read on it today that Doust said on radio that Saints will be playing at Barton Park in three years.
News breaking stuff.
That's what forums should be about.

I have only just found this forum and I am stoked. I have been visitingWORL since Matt O celebrated 10,000 hits.. It has been rubbishfor a while nowand I wondered where all the decent posters had gone.

I saw a link to this one on one ofWORLthreads and clicked. One glance at the thread headings and a big grin appeared. It was immediately bookmarked and it is taking me a while to read all the threads. Makes a change for clicking on the other forum, giving a quick glance and bugging out because there is nothing interesting on it.
