Ok I’m drunkish I backed Vow and Declare but I’m thinking about our boys and praying that Latrell Mitchell is not signed here on a $1 million deal but that’s another story.

As per the title the 3 I think we need to fire basically all season which, if they do, will, imho, elevate us above 9th have to be

Luke Garner - pretty certain he will we are good here

Oliver Clark - He showed enough IMO to show he is capable of doing it

Josh Reynolds - if he stays injury free we WILL be better off, to what extent we will see

At the moment we'd need Brooks to have the greatest season of any player ever to make the 8 in 2020.

Eh those players are important sure but I can think of many other players that need to have huge seasons if we are any chance. First of all our highest paid Mbye. Paid a motza yet barely played like a fringe first grader this year

Brooks. But it will largely depend on the dummy half situation, he played a lot better without Farah the last few games of the year. Hopefully we can sign a few more forwards to help him out

Packer. I think the fact he is still in the team, despite the apparent "falling out" with the coach and poor attitude has me thinking maybe he's primed for a big 2020. Let's hope

I'll add in Reynolds aswell, pretty self explanatory. We need his enthusiasm and he owes us with all the games hes missed

I fully expect Momorovski, Mikaele, Aloiai to kick on aswell.

Well done on the win mate!

I agree Garner stepping up will be crucial to us moving forward. With Matterson moving on we need a big line breaking back rower and LG has shown signs that he could be that man.

Not sure on the other two. I know Clarke got a few wraps and we won the first 6 games or so that he played, but I don’t see much in him other then being decent back up.

Reynolds well, let’s start with injury free and see where we go from there.

As others have mentioned surely the 7 is the big key. We then need someone to step up and be an enforcer in the pack, Aloiai looks likely and was coming on very nicely before his late season injury. Lastly a guy in the backs who can create something from nothing. Talau could be that man but that’s expecting a lot from someone who’s played 1 game. A strike back signing is still needed.

Don't agree that Garner and Clark have to fire. They are on very low end salaries and have time to develop their game here at Tigers. The players that need to step up or step off are:

1. Reynolds - champion bloke but unless he can transition to a minimum 60 min hooker he is surplus to needs
2. Packer - needs to find the form he was in at the Dragons or move on. Can't have $750k sitting in reserve grade
3. McQueen - has contributed nothing to the on field success. Its his final year here so unless he suddenly finds the form he was in at the Bunnies he should start looking at the ESL
4. Mbye - I don't get why this guy is so highly rated. He's a decent player yeah, but his salary + origin rep + captaincy makes me scratch my head
5. Liddle - mate, your young, footy isn't everything. If your body can't hold up then there is no shame in retiring
6. Jennings - this is your final year to prove that 2018 wasn't a fluke (*cough Greg Inglis") or you will be playing reserves for another club

There is like $3 million in salary cap space there and only 1 player is a regular first grader. Imagine if Madge was able to clear most of this off for 2021.....

Reynolds needs to go. Benji is better at 6 and he isn't a hooker. I'd love to proven wrong but it's been 2 years and I can't see that situation turning around.

We need some grunt in the forwards after losing Matterson and Matulino. These guys were both good for us last year.

Yes but they don’t all need to fire (and prob wont) for us to improve our position... Most of them won’t feature, same as this year so it doesn’t matter ...Who needs to fire not who do u think will or will not fire...Who will be in the team and if they fire will make all the difference..Brooke’s doesn’t have to change a thing ..I think we have seen the best of Brooke’s and that’s enough for us to move up the table He can churn those performances out week after week... ....Aloiai - same ....Garner he’s close to being a super star....and would definitely make a difference if he went to the next level ...Oliver is a prop and we are short there..and at this stage will be in the team so yes we desperately need him to lift ..Reynolds is going to be in the team. He prob just needs time to find his groove...and will definitely make a difference if he can add some tricks at hooker (and count on Benji getting injured at some point...) Mbye will be in the team as a reliable centre in defence and attack and the odd flourish which will be enough ~ he’s got a nice pass on him so he will be more of a link man which is fine esp if he’s passing to a new star recruit..and hes a reliable goal kicker if needed

Thanks for the replies guys it was a drunken post for sure but I do feel like those 3 mentioned will need to be on top of their game for us to make the semis, for sure and yes I realise they aren’t the only ones.

I picked them out at the time because LG needs to go higher faster due to MattO, Clark showed promise as a front rower and needs to kick on and JR it’s kind of obvious right.

My disclaimer is still they are not alone it’s just these 3 popped in my head at the time.
