I think Warne will be man of the series. He has found his best form again since losing the weight, and a lot of the Poms haven't faced him before. I think even great batsmen have to face Warne a few times before they can be comfortable against him.
Australia will win, but it will be a lot closer than a lot of pundits are thinking. Perhaps 3-2?
I fancy Mark Waugh will be given one last chance by the selectors. Given the opportunity, Australia may not change the side once during the series (except for injury)
The Pommie Schedule looks like this. Three thumbs down to the clowns who decided to mix up the tests and VB Series again/
<ul> [*]22/10 - ODI v ACB Chairman's XI at Lilac Hill (lost by 58 runs) [*]24/10-25/10, 28/10-30/10 - 5 day match v WA at the WACA [*]2/11-4/11 - 3 day match v Queensland at the Border Field [*]7/11-11/11 - FIRST TEST (GABBA) [*]15/11-17/11 - 3 day match v Australia A at Bellrive Oval [*]21/11-25/11 - SECOND TEST (ADELAIDE OVAL) [*]29/11-3/12 - THIRD TEST (WACA) [*]6/12 - ODI v New South Wales (SCG) [*]8/12 - ODI v Australia A (SCG) [*]10/12 - ODI v Prime Minister's XI (Manuka Oval) [*]13/12 - VB Series v Australia (SCG) [*]15/12 - VB Series v Australia (MCG) [*]17/12 - VB Series v Sri Lanka (Gabba) [*]20/12 - VB Series v Sri Lanka (WACA) [*]26/12-30/12 - FOURTH TEST (MCG) [*]2/1-6/1 - FIFTH TEST (SCG) [*]8/1 - ODI v Bradman XI (Bowral) [*]11/1 - VB Series v Australia (Bellrieve) [*]13/1 - VB Series v Sri Lanka (SCG) [*]17/1 - VB Series v Sri Lanka (Adelaide Oval) [*]19/1 - VB Series v Sri Lanka (Adelaide Oval)[/list]
I am tipping the Australians 4-0 with one draw due to rain.
Whether they pick Mark Waugh or not is irelevent. I would personally go for a younger guy (Watson, Clarke or Nash) but the rest of the team would be enough to beat the poms anyway.
The are no match for the current team especialy in Australia.
Steve Waugh will nugde his average back over 50 by the end of the series.
the selectors will give mark waugh one last chance in the first test,if he fails he's out.
i'm hoping for a close series but the aussies are just to hardened for the poms, has the barmy army hit our shores yet, they're great value, they make our aussie aussie oi oi chantsound tenth rate,i guess the yobbos would struggle to remember anything more complicated though, aussie aussie aussie,oi oi oi.
