I know that Blocker Roach has turned to Manly, could someone fill me in on why please?
I don't know how I missed it, but I know nothing! #-o

He wasn't willing to wait forever for a position at the tigers.

Can't really blame him for that.

Is there any reason Balmain didnt offer Blocker a position ?
I thought his knowledge as a front rower would be valuable to the props coming through the grades.

As far as I know he was forwards coach for Balmain in 98/99 and ifor the wests tigers in 2000.

When lamb took over he got rid of all the support team stating he didn't want any assistant coaches - a week before he appointed his own (which he was well within his rights to do but I don't see the point of lying about it in the first place)

I think he was the forwards coach for us back then, he was staying around becuase he wanted to still be involved with the club but was never called upon :?

Blockers a great defence coach .
Just look at the way manly defend on their line .

Blocker was a liability at Balmain , and i am glad the Wests Tigers had the brains to leave him out of the equation .

Blocker was a great footballer , but on many times when we needed him he would let the side down with foul play .

Ben Kennedy at Wests would have been nice 4 years ago .lol.

Balmains forward pack in the years Blocker was helping out was fantastic - it was our backs that continually let us down.

As for block being a liability as a player - as anyone who played with him if they'd agree with you, to a man they'd all say that while he cost us occasionally that was more than outweight by the benefits he gave the team.

What most people forget about steve is while they remember his fire they forget just how skilled he was - I don't think I've ever seen a better ball playing prop and the kids at manly (who are mostly playing well above themselves despite their terrible position on the ladder) will learn a lot from him.

Glen Lazzarus played Blocker off a break .
The 88 grand final was the pinnacle of his foul play .
And it did cost us any chance we had of a grand final win .
