Burns is a much better option than Plodcroft.

The selectors made this rod/mess for themselves.

I read an article today re Renshaw getting all hit happy in a few club games.

I sincerely hope we see him again open for the test team, long term.

The Phoenix that is Cameron Bancroft will rise from the Ashes.

    Pun intended.

Renshaw has the game for it, did pretty well in India given that was his first time in Asia.

Yeah - I know he has struggled for runs, but dropping Renshaw was wrong IMO

Agreed, he at least deserved the first couple of tests. And to be replaced by a bloke who you could fit George Rose through his bat and front pad.

It was his shield season form that put the nail in the coffin.

    10 innings.

A 51 not out & every other innings he failed to go past 20.

    Bancroft's mum doesn't even appreciate Cameron's batting.

Whoever they pick for the SA tour is going to be on their second or third chance.
Even if they stick with Bancroft it's pretty much a second chance.
No getting around that unless they go the rookie option.

All jokes aside, Burns treatment was just flat out wrong.

Did a very solid job, dumped for no real reason, brought back for one test on a pitch that had branches growing out of it.

    Bansai branches.

He also wasn't the only one who failed, but was strung up with Ferguson and Nevill for it.

I think he, like Handscombe got dropped due to his technique rather than form

once his weakness got exploited I think they thought he would be a sitting duck if the mighty Windies attack were able to exploit his weakness

if he has been able to rectify it, he may be worth another chance

Well If they are dropping people on Technique Plodcroft should be the first one to go.

If we're dropping people on technique we'll have a new Test captain for South Africa....
