Yeah, thickos posted in the other thread that it's on at 8am Sunday on FS1.

Good work to everyone that's been calling and emailing Fox Sports, they've heard the fan's wishes. :D

Good news. Congratulations to all those who were in contact with FOX/NRL and helped make it happen.

Enjoy the game - and c'mon Hull :D

Please anyone posting scores/updates results on the game here, stay "spolier aware" for the interests of those who want to watch the delay as if it were live...

I'll be trying to watch it "as live", but I'll have my computer on from the time I get up (probably 6:30-ish), so I doubt I'll be able to escape the score.

I'm going to contact Fox Sports to ask if they can put the game on the Main Event channel live (now that they have the rights).Maybe a few more people could contact them as well.

Fox Sports is owned by the Premier Media Group, Main Event is owned separately, so it's pretty much not going to happen. It's only happened 3 times that they've put something on there. One was the final of the NBL basketball, one was a tri-nations game that wasn't being broadcast by Ch 7 to the southern states, I can't remember what the third was at the moment.

13.5 hours until kick-off, can't see them changing much now. Just glad it's getting shown in Australia at all given all the drama it took. Unbelievable.

Part of the issue was getting a feed in - Fox Sports already had a number of feeds coming in, including the Ashes, EPL, and Golf, on top of that there were sponsor commitments to take into account - it's sadly not as simple as saying "oh yeah, we'll play it"

But yeah, the right result's come about, it's just not quite as ideal as we'd hoped.

There's been a few more times. One time, the Super 12 game between Qld and someone was on while the League and some other live event was being telecast. Another time was during round 26 of last year, they telecasted both 7:30 games live because of the bearing the games had on the finals.

The point is, the times they've done it were because of the significance to a large section of the population. No disrespect intended to any of us here, but if you asked the fans at tonight's 3 NRL games who was playing in the final of the Challenge Cup, most wouldn't know, some would even say "huh? what's that?" - Fox Sports (and ESPN too for that matter) aren't likely to move heaven & earth for the limited number of people interested in seeing the game.
