The Dangerous Bob Lui

I was in Canberra yesterday and from the first kick that the Dangerous Bob Lui (DBL) put in I could see there was something different about him.

His kick found touch and then he ran down the field clapping and firing up the boys.

Has DBL come out of his shell?

Is the real DBL now going to emerge?

Believe me people, I am Moltzie's number 1 fan, but DBL was awesome yesterday.

May it continue.

You could see his ability from the back end of last season. Can't believe there are people who are still bagging him. He is quality, and he will only get better.

He does seem to be getting better every game. I was a doubter initially but i find myself eating my words lately.

We paid a small price in on field performance when Sheens forced Lui to make Marshall and Farah take a back seat but it is well worth the dividends.

It has always been about mental maturity for Rob and this certainly seems to have arrived.

Also going through the allegations he did I think the club supporting him and his partner provided the sense of family he finds very imprtant

that break where he stood up 3 defenders from a standing start to setup the try for fifita, was brillant.

I was in the crowd of doubters in the ability of Robert Lui as the start of his career. He honestly was terrible, but once he found some confidence in himself and the team looked to him, he stood up and has continued to stand up since he made his debut.

His game against Canberra was great...

Never any doubt he was the no1 option in the club for the no7 job. Yesterday he was doing all the talking and Farah and Marshall were left to play off the cuff. If the forwards can set a platform he will shine, but like all no7's he will struggle when the pack goes backwards

He played very, very well. His performance yesterday was his best from an organisational stand point and gives me hope that maybe one day could be a proper halfback. If he can continue to work on his structural play, he'll be a very good halfback.

I honestly thought they blew that play back. None of the Raiders tried to tackle him or anything. He just jogged through a 10m wide hole haha.

I have said it before we need to sign Lui to a long term deal. He is the real deal as a half. We need to build out team around Marshall, Farah and Lui. Lui will only get better with age but from the first time I saw him play I knew he was a special talent and Sheens knew it as well.

yeo lui should be (and obviously is ) the 1st choice and permanent halfback. We all like Moltzen, and he is a decent halfback and some still want him to be HB, but Liu has classic classy halfback written all over him. Which leads us to a conumdrum, we have to sign one up and let one go to save up salary cap for other positions, assuming neither will want to be second fiddle long term and regardless other clubs would take one or the other in a flash, and we proabably cant afford the luxury.Moltz definitely isn't a fullback as he's not interested in the bread and butter role of the FB, and we cant experiment for a year or two or three hoping he will be. Unless Me Sheens sees him as utility back permanently, but dont think Moltz sees himself as that and theres a couple of teams out there who im sure would use him as first choice halfback, escpecially once he's got some more game time back after injury.Anyone know how long they are signed for??

I've asked this before and no one knew the answer but I'll ask again. Is Robert Lui any relation to former Norths lower grader Mixie Lui?

There is no reason why both can't enjoy successful careers at the Tigers. With our CEO and Coach, I have every confidence the Tigers will keep the players it wants to keep and find positions for both.

bubbles, now you can forget him as Lui is the No 1 half and has been the No 1 since the day he came in last year.

I have been a regular at the NSW Cup games and believe me, last year there were Tiger people saying that Lui was the real deal, everyone on the coaching team new it and Mal even named him in the Queensland emerging SOO squad.

The guy was just a quiet boy from the bush and the big city was a hard thing to get use to, I believe he has found his way.

I initially considered Moltzen as our first choice half but since Lui has come in he has added a new dimension to our attack and is continually improving.

I'll reserve my judgement at this stage on Lui.

Not once did Canberra's defence rush up and pressure Lui's kicks, and when he ran with the ball, they all stood flat footed, essentially making him look like a million bucks.

Yes he's good, but we'll see how he shapes up against an actually committed defesive line up

Of what I have seen so far in 2011
1 lui
2 miller
3 molltzen

Miller will be in big demand, too good for u20's and their are plenty of sides who need a no7.
Moltzen is still great value for the no14 role or back up for the 6 and 7 and 1 ( no 1 if all other options are exhausted)

Does anyone know how long they signed Miller up for? He's only 18, I hope they don't rush him (don't think they need to), he has lots of time.
