The worst movie i've seen in the last 5 years, and definitely in the top 5 of all time. I cannot believe how bad it is. Let me kick off a list of things wrong with it:
  • The acting of everyone, but especially the defense secretary - horrible
  • The acting of keanu reeves - not as bad but still, ridiculously bad
  • product placement all through the movie, way over the top
  • A not to subtle environmental message. ffs, we got the point after 10mins, no need to keep ramming it down our throat
  • It was one big sales pitch for the united states army. pathetic
  • It was such an over the top american love in. really ridiculous
In other words, don't waste your time

Worse than Moffo's predictions ? ;-)

I dont like Canoo much at all. I still haven't forgiven him for ruining Bram Stoker's Dracula with his Bill and Teds annoying voice. Thankfully Gary Oldman & Hopkins owned.

The product placement was what really got to me. Way too bloody obvious. Eg, a car pulls up in the perfect position so the golden arches of McDonalds are reflected perfectly in the windscreen. The next scene starts with a close-up of a McCafe cup. A mobile phone drops onto a bed so that the maker of the phone is shown clearly (the phone even had a big manufacturer's logo displayed on the supposedly off screen!). One of the characters, while looking at said phone with the clock clearly displayed, is asked the time. The character then looks at her watch and so do we, clearly enough to see the brand.

Product placement I can accept as I know it's a part of any movie these days. But it needs to be done well. This movie had certain elements changed or tacked on solely for product placement, and that's just not right.

yeh the maccas one was the worst. so f**king pathetic, its like they didnt even try to be discrete about it. why dont they just make a movie with 2hrs full of product placement?

LG, windows were two other standout product placements for me during the movie

you have to admit that Keanu's famous blankness waas perfect for the part. Hell, he didn't really need to act at all.

i saw the movie and i didnt think it was that bad but it could have been alot better.

the little tiny robotic bug things were a stupid idea and the ending could have been done a bit better too.

i bought the original movie on dvd the other day and i think i enjoyed the original better.
