The Descent....what happened in the end?? *SPOILERS*

I watched the movie The Descent last night and was left a bit confused in the ending.

What the heck happened? She got out of the cave, then woke up back in the cave, then something about a daughter and a birthday cake and then she just seemed to wait to die.

This website http://www.ruinedendings.com/film5135ending also claims she found out that the other girl she stabs in the leg had an affair with her late husband.....when and how did she find that out??

Can anyone explain this movie to me, it appears I missed some pieces of the puzzle!

she knew that natalie mendoza's character (Juno?) had an affair with her hubby because of some bit of jewellery she had if i remember correctly.

A while since I saw it, so I'm a bit rusty. She dreamt that she got out but, in the end she awoke in the cave, and a certainty to die in there because they pan out to show you just how deep she still is in the cave.
