Some hypothesis here, but if Balmain lose their seats on the board, and Campbelltown lose their games, then the Wests Tigers will no longer represent either side of the merger. How long do people think Wests Ashfield will continue to fund a team that plays out of Leichhardt Oval? If these things come to pass I can only predict both Leichhardt and Ctown will become a thing of the past as Wests Ashfield will not give a toss about the supposed spiritual home of Balmain but rather profits. All games to ANZ I am guessing.

To prevent this, BOTH sets of supporters need to support Ctown. If 16k fans can turn up to Leichhardt then the same 16k fans can make the trip to Ctown. And there are PLENTY of die hard south west Sydney fans in that 16k figure that travel to Leichhardt and get off their butt to attend Ctown - myself included.

If the inner city fans choose not to come to Ctown then good luck hoping Wests Ashfield will fund a team that plays out of Leichhardt but not Ctown. Just my thoughts.

Like I have said before, Cambo won't be saved by convincing inner city fans commuting 50kms per game, but by engaging the 500K locals that live in the area.

I think both would help the situation. I think its in the inner cities best interests to get behind their team at Ctown to encourage Wests Ashfield to continue to want to play at BOTH suburban grounds

Its been nearly a decade since I visited Campbelltown Stadium. I'll be doing my best to get out to a game out there this year. Might see if I can talk a couple of the locals into coming along too...

Nice mate. It really is that simple. If the 16k that turned up to Leichhardt also turned up to Ctown then we would only be talking about the footy. The die hards need to travel. Whether people agree with the reasons or not alot of fans from the south west are disgruntled at the perceived Balmain bias in the JV. Until these issues are addressed, and they can be, then the die hard fans are the crowd. And ALOT of south west Sydney die hard fans travel to Leichhardt. I know plenty that wont travel to ANZ, but the suburban grounds are great to watch footy for the atmosphere and tradition. And when Wests Ashfield get control of the board I want to give them every reason to keep playing there rather than focus on profit

I think the simple reality is that the overwhelming majority of diehards are people who do not live in the Balmain or Campbelltown areas.

When you have always had to travel to support your team you tend to be less precious about it all.

That is my observation

If the club was serious about answering these questions they could record the post codes of the fans who attend games and which team they were supporting - Wests Tigers, the opposition, neither. It would be interesting to get the facts

The members with three ground packages is overwhelmingly not locals of our two traditional home areas. Asked that question at the info session last year

My team moved away from me initially

I then moved out of their original area

Ive moved several times since, other clubs districts, other states

Nothing stays the same

Some think theyre owed something, if youre a supporter you stick with the team, regardless of where they go or you go...or if the team eveolves into another entity...my two bobs worth.

Dunno if its just me but this BS childish dickhead postcode crap seems to have caused more garbage from the idiots on social media who purport to be Wests Tigers fans but sprout Magpie & Balmain avatars etc...dumb move the whole thing

I would have went. I went to Leichhardt v Manly. This week i was up at Newy. Unfortunately i work a lot of weekends but i have a membership at ANZ( i will be lucky to use it). Still no matter what ground it's at , working around wife and baby i will go as much as i can. If the boys keep winning, it won't be long before you have to pre purchase to enter the suburban gounds ( for day games)

Wests Tigers officials want a stadium venue - ANZ is the intended home ground. CS and LO will be gone in 2016.

I'm not driving out to Ctown to watch a game....sorry but that's the harsh truth. I'd rather sit at home and watch it on TV.
I go to every Leichardt game because its more entertaining being at the ground than TV and its only a 10 min drive.
I started following the Tigers in 2009, so I have absolutely no allegiance to either side of the join venture, just the Wests Tigers. I merely go to Leichardt games because its a great atmosphere and its close.
If I lived in Ctown then I'd go to games there, its that simple.

No disrespect to the campbelltown area but the many times i have gone down to watch my team play with some friends i haven't had the best time!
The most disappointing part is most of this occurred with our supporters. I find it difficult to head to campbelltown for reasons of not enjoying my footy mainly because of the behaviour of some "supporters"

the times i have been to campbelltown i have witnessed:

a father heavily intoxicated trying to start a fight only to be dragged away by his two very young daughters.
my gf being abused by fellow female tigers supporters ( even though she supports the tigers )
Seeing how people speak to their children and have no shame in beating them quite hard in front of everyone.

I know its not all the area but its not one of my favourite places to go watch football. give me leichardtt any day and ANZ.

I also find it hard to convince my gf but also friends to come to campbelltown to watch a footy match!

Well these last two posts - which are stereotypical of the Balnmain side of the joint venture are the reason the joint venture is fractured.

Any reasonable person could say that what Mascot Tiger stated could be true of certain sections of the crowd at Leichhardt or any other ground or team. But, typical of certain fans it puts people from the Campbelltown area, down.

Quite disgusting, really. And, I not from Campbelltown.

I will be glad that in 2016, Wests Ashfield will make certain demands to continue funding to the Wests Tigers or walk away from the joint venture.
