well afte the last for test were just 18 points has seperated Australia and Great Brittian one would have to stand up and look at the standards of both proffesional competitions. 3 years ago GB were hamered 64-10 in sydney since that night GB have played 7 test matches for 5 loses 1 win and a draw against the southern hemisphere super powers.

Now i realise that the NRL all round is a stronger competition but one must now say that the top 5-6 clubs in the Super League wouldn't be just making up the number in the NRL, on test form alone that could be seen as a naive statement.

So is the Super League closer than ever(considering it turns 10 next year) to the NRL?

I personaly believe that in 5-10 years both competitions will be on a par were players won't be fussed with which one they play in as long as they are playing full time proffesional football.

In my opinion the 2002 result of 64-10 is a non issue, GB players played for their clubs on a friday night jumped straight on a plane and flew into Oz on a sunday and played on the friday, that has to be the worst preparation for a test match in the history of sport.

Too true, and last year we had a dismal coach whose selections defied logic.

I think that the major difference at international level is preparation. The Kangaroos have all proved themselves at high inensity rep football, the GB players lack such an opportunity.

To me, the main difference between ESL and NRL is that the NRL is not full of super-annuated Ausies and Kiwis who are way past their sell-by date. The National Leagues are just as bad.
