The gossip sections on the net

The likes of Leaguehq's Sin Bin and Insider features and Leagueaustralia.com's "Dr. Who" seem to churn outplenty of interesting gossip, but how much of it is worth reading?

The "Dr. Who" part of L.A. is really the only reason I seem to visit that page, but after a few complete stuff-ups I'm starting toget interested in the background of this "guy". Especially after hearing all the talk about "Sexy Belinda" beingexposed as the webmaster in disguise on the forums there!

Meanwhile, I've had to hold off for monthsfromlookingat taking up one of the cheap Sky digital offers after Sin Bin told me "you heard it here first"in regards toTelstra Saturm getting the NRL rightsfrom next year onwards, only for Sky tore-sign for the rightsto thenext 5 yearslast week.

Of course MattO seems to incorporate his gossip section intosome ofthe news articles he writes, but still notmuch luck on the accuracy side of things!

They're just three of the dubiousregular gossipsections I know of and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on them, or on others you've found and how highlythey rate in your book.

I must admit that Dr Who is the only reason I go to League Australia.
Some of his "rumours" are a bit of a joke though. Most of them seem to be things recycled from the papers or well known facts that he/she then big notes himself over when the are announced. For example, the other week he/she was lauding himself for revealing a few weeks earlier that Matt Elliot was due to gradually take over the coaching position in Canberra from Mal and by the end of the year Elliot would virtually be head coach. The thing is this has been what was going to happen since Elliot signed on last year and has been reported dozens of times.

Well i have serious doubts about Dr Who. Considering Troys history of being unable to hold onto people at his site. Almost everyone hes ever had has left for bigger and better things. Tim and Rob seem the only people prepared to stick around. My opinion is that Dr Who is really Troy. Its just a stunt to get hits and it proves by both of your comments that its the only reason you even go to LA.

I think leagueHQ can be taken slightly more seriously seeing it doesn't come from secretive sources.

All gossip is all just purely for entertainment, most of it turns out to be utter dribble but always good for a laugh.

Well Mr Plimmer, you seem to be very wrong. Dr Who is not Troy, but is a personality in mainstream media (not Ray Hadley).

I can't argue with the second line - after all it's your own choice to visit what where and when.

LeagueHQ can be taken more seriously, yes.

And if you had paid attention to the column you would realise 95% of what is reported happens within a week or two of the report. He was first with John Hopoate's return and has been right about just about everything I've read. Quit reading between the lines and read the actual ones.
