As good a game as he has ever played.
Should be up there with the games of Johns in 2005 and Langer in 2001. In a game full of legendary players he was by far and away the best player. It's not often you see someone be that dominant. QLD usually had Lockyer, Thurston, Slater, Smith, Inglis, Cronk and so on all be brilliant. I think Hayne tonight put in a more dominant performance than any QLDer has alone over their run.

If he wasn't the Man of the Match then the judges should have had their hands and feet cut off, been disembowelled, beheaded then resurrected and locked in an insane asylum.

The issue for the past few years is that Parra has relied on him to do everything. All our points came through him. That is just setting up a team for failure no matter how good the player is.

All the experts are saying that he's back to his 2009 form but he never really lost it. We've just finally surrounded him with some talent and relieved the pressure.

There is no doubt that NSW would have one a few of the series of Hayne was played at fullback.

Amazing game from Hayne. He was the reason we won tonight, one of the best Origin performances by a Blue in years

.... not having Pearce in the team was also a great help

He was injured and out of form (mostly because of injury) in patches over 2011 and 2012.

    2012 and 2013.

He played 21 games in 2011, hence we didn't get the spoon despite having a weaker squad than the next two years.

He was clearly struggling with injury throughout the last two years. If you think he's always played as good as he did in 2009 then you are kidding yourself. This year has easily been his best since 09.

He was incredible. I hope he lifts again for game II.

    What a marvelous player.

He was never out of form, consistently one of the most dangerous players on the opposition line for the last five years and statistically on par per game with the best fullbacks over that period.
    Nice.

He basically played fullback, five eighth and halfback. All of NSW's attack went through him. He even kicked us out of trouble on a few occasions. It was a footballing master class. Thankfully Daley structured the game plan around Hayne unlike in previous years where it was structured around that numpty otherwise known as Mitchell Pearce. It is about time they learned that you can't polish a turd and instead played to the strengths in the team.

He should be dropped for game 2 because he's a five-eighth who should be playing on the wing.

    :sarcasm:

The best player in the world for mine.

    He is a genuine freak!!!

That run in the second half, even though he lost the ball was massive.

He bombed a try by not taking the tackle and quickly playing the ball. He also bombed a try in the first half by passing when Hodges knocked the ball down. Had he thrown the dummy and run into the hole he would not have been stopped.

Oh please if he had not of made that run we would've been stuck in our 20 forced to kick our way out with qld probably returning it back deep into our own half. That run put them down into their half. He lifted when we needed him

He also bombed a try when he threw the ball to Tupou. If he dummied and stepped, he would've beaten that lazy defender covering across.

In saying all that, he is already amazing. So if he can get these judgements right, he'd be the best ever
