The Hurt Locker

Did anyone actually like this movie? I watched it and thought it was extremely boring, with little to no story line. Sure, the slow motion scenes were pretty cool, but I can see better things then that on the Discovery Channel.

Plus the fact that it's been deemed offensive and completely unrealistic by current and former Army members, I just can't understand how people can even think it is a good movie, let alone an Oscar winner.

I lost interest within the first 5 or 10 minutes, it just didn't seem very realistic to me.

Though I have no idea what I'm talking about, Generation Kill seemed much more grounded in reality.

I watched Hurt Locker and Green Zone on the same day and thought Green Zone was the better movie but still enjoyed Hurt Locker.

I liked it. I agree it was boring at times but the action/suspense sequences made the movie decent...

I loved it. Best movie I've seen in quite some time.

I was told about it before the hype though, saw it at an arthouse-y cinema before everyone was going on about it. Don't know if that influenced my opinion or not.

I wasn't bored for a second.

I do question how realistic it was, especially the cliched "soldier who disobeys orders" role which must surely be far from reality.

But overall i thought it was an interesting, well-written and intense movie.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a true to life movie. There's a script somewhere. A soldier basically points out all the flaws and how unrealistic the movie is...
