The last time we beat a top 4 side?

I could be wrong but I think the last time we've actually tasted victory against a top 4 side was way back in Round 13, 2002 v Bronco's in Brisbane (Tuqiri was still around for goodness sake!). The Bronco's finished 3rd that year.

Last year we did beat the Knights in Round 3 @ Home but the Knights only finished 7th although they did finish 2nd the year before.

Pretty scary stuff to see just how far we have fallen in such a short time. Smithy really needs to put things right this year from the get go! Especially when you consider we are playing the Dogs (3rd), Bronco's (8th), Knights (7th) & Raiders (4th) in the opening 4 rounds!

Um, no. The Bronoco's finished 8th and the Warriors 6th in 2003 so I don't consider them the top four of last year in the regular season. What they did in 2002 is hardly relevant when we beat them in the second half of the 2003 anyway. I would really only consider the previous seasons ladder for the first few rounds of the new season so I guess you could say the win over the Knights was a genuine victory over a top 4 side. But thats it.

The Warriors finished the year 1 short of a grand final birth therefore they should be regarded as top 4 side. I would of thought.

Your comparing apples with oranges!!

your comparing how we performed against teams finishing positions in the same season, with how we ma/may not perform against teams based on their finshing position the previous year. WHo's to say our first 4 opponents won't all miss the 8 this year?
