Watched that game again over the off season probably the best game we have ever played in attack.. shame about the defense we just choked. Really that was the week we blew it for season 2000. Hopefully this is the week that makes it for us in 2004.

I was there. We scored some of the best tries I have ever seen by us.And what about the celebrations. At 31-8 in the 2nd half i was feeling pretty confident.

I will never forget Chris Hicks potting them form the sideline......

OUCH!!!!!!

Tigerdan! I was just about to write something about that!

That game was a turning point in our history as a club I believe. We were up 31-8 with about 25 to go. That first 55 mins we were unbelievable, the commentators were calling us premiership contenders and we were scoring some amazing tries!! Field had the ball on a string that day.

Unfortunetly we all know what happened in that game.

If we win that game, finals here we come and a bright future. We lost and lost 4 of our next 5 and our next three years have been a write off. That game afffected us mentally.

Still its not good too dwell so lets just look forward to tomorrow night!!

That was for sure where the team lost it mentally... Joel Caine was as good as any fullback in the game and on his way to being a superstar until we lost it in that game was never the same after that really.

We were on fire...first Doyle, then Caine, then a Buddha field goal as the halftime siren sounded. Then a Buddha try, then a Hoppa try, then a Field try and a short time after all that...that's when the Sh#t hit the fan. Penrith got a 2nd wind, and went on with it. We died in the arse. Why did you have to bring this up again? The pain, the pain, ohhh the pain

that game will forever live in my memory, and i believe is the sole reason
that i am never comfortable at a Tigers game.

I couldn't believe Hicks' kicking, his was slotting them over from all corners. He couldn't kick like that on a good day now!!

Definently our best and worst performance all rolled up into one.

The thing that hurt most about Hicks, White Tiger, is that he got 1 from about 7 the week before against Newcastle #-o

that might have been the week after we lost to canberra in the snow? there was a charge down, which led to a try, by a raiders player who went back a whole 3 meters and it cost us the game.

The look on Wayne Pearces face at the end of that Penrith game almost looked worse then when we lost the 89 Final. I think he knew then that it was just about time to get out of coaching, tigers simply never have any luck.

Also our captain being spear tackled didnt exactly help that year. Anyone know if Mcraken is still taking legal action?

I remember how fired up we were for our first game against the Broncos, we were just playing all over them until they got a try off a blatant forward pass. What was the go with Joel Caine? he had a blinder in that game but then two years later he was useless. Maybe Terry Lamb ruined him.

I did think we were a title threat that year but then again we did go to ANZ and get beaten by about 40? so much for that.

The game in 2000 we were destroyed by a bullocking Tony Puletua playing in the forwards but running out in the centres. As well as Chris Hicks kicking four goals from difficult positions in the second half....

I was at the game and at 31 - 8 thought it would be appropriate to give it to the Panthers fans. I sure did look like a goose as i made my way from the ground.....

Craig Field was awesome in the first half and was very average in the second half, as were our outside backs.

As for the Canberra game the week before, Craig Field was the player who kicked it into the Canberra player attempting a charge down. He was very talented, but jeeez he did some stupid things......

Field could be man of the match in a game but the headlines the next day would still be on the errors in his game. This is compared to players such as Lockyer who are Media darlings. Lockyer bombed a try in a semi v penrith last year with two players on his outside which would have won them the game. Yet hardly anyone says a word about it. I can just imagine the massive news that would have been if it was Field.
